It is important that young athletes know who paved the way for them. And Montreal should be proud of the part it played in helping Robinson integrate major league baseball.

Then you have the lone MLB team in Canada now in the Blue Jays. Play last two spring training games in Montreal and not a thought of wearing a version of a throwback Expos Jersey. On Jackie Robinson day, or around the day if they are on the road, wearing a Montreal Royals throwback. Better yet I think his first regular season game for International league Royals was on April 18th.
