EDMONTON — Cody Fajardo and the Montreal Alouettes were playing all year with a chip on their shoulder.

So Cody WASN’T the problem when he was in Saskatchewan? Looks like Jeremy O’Day is going to have to choose his scapegoat more wisely this time.

I think Cody was at first devastated to be left out on the cold by the rider brass
Now he must be happy to out of that cluster you know what

I thought Montreal was in trouble when they ended up with the last available QB during free agency. I thought Montreal was in trouble when Fajardo was sacked a zillion times in the first 4 games. Here it comes folks!! I was wrong. I think Fajardo is in the top 5 QB’s in the CFL. A team that has built an offence around his strengths rather than plug any QB into a set offence. On Saturday did you see him run for the first downs when needed. On Saturday did you see him throw an interception and the hustle over to make the tackle ot stop a pick 6. Cody I was wrong about you. You are a football player unlike that whinny sniveler Chad Kelly

Fajardo is a limited QB with a definite ceiling, but he was also a scapegoat in Saskatchewan, as PorkyPine noted. He hasn’t been stellar in Montreal this year, but given that we have a strong defence, he doesn’t need to be elite. He just needs to manage games and not hurt us with mistakes.

The ESF is anybody’s game, and even if we win, I can’t see us getting past Toronto in the division final, but we are a 10-win team in a year when all the prognosticators had us ending up in the league basement. Feels good to prove them wrong.
