Als extend four more players, including OL Jesse Gibbon

MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes announced on Friday that they have extended American tackle Josh Donovan, American linebacker Chris Moore and National offensive lineman Jesse Gibbon for two years. The club also re-signed Global kicker Jose Maltos for one season.

Well, Maltos certainly did enough this year to earn himself this roster spot.

If I recall correctly, David Cote is not a FA this year, so there might be a kicking competition in Montreal this offseason.

Should be fun to watch! Ultimately, I hope the Quebec Kid wins it but Maltos is very good in his own right.

Cote had a very shaky season that he partially redeemed by largely solid performances in the playoffs. But Maltos’s re-signing IMO suggests that the team isn’t going to head into 2024 without a backup option ready to hand.
