TORONTO — Don’t tell the Montreal Alouettes they are not favoured in the Eastern Final.
An Alouettes team that is riding a six-game winning streak with a dominant defence and an efficient offence believes they can beat anyone, including the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday at BMO Field.
This game, I doubt, will be as intriguing as the Western Final but it should be a fun watch. The Als certainly improved as the season went on and were easily the second best team in the East, but Toronto was dominant from the jump and remained so throughout the long season. I expect the Als to make it interesting but do not see them as having enough playmakers to overcome the gap that separates them from the Argos. Ancient boat jockeys win this one after the Als get a last minute major to make a not always competitive game appear to be closer than the 34-23 final indicates.
