Als come from behind for win over Riders

MONTREAL – Two first place teams entered the contest at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, but only one could come out victorious.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://www.cfl.ca/2024/07/25/als-come-from-behind-for-win-over-riders

" Davis Alexander threw for 178 yards and two touchdowns while Tyson Philpot led all receivers with 88 yards."

And suddenly Montreal went from getting 5 yards per Caleb Evans pass to getting 10 yards per Davis Alexander pass. Montreal scored 17 straight points. Saskatchewan just couldn’t keep up. Talk about a momentum swing… and it all started with a quarterback switch to begin the second half.

Another great CFL finish in front of a packed house! More please!!! :beaver:

Too many penalties for the Riders. Als were high on Alexander & there was talk he would get playing time. Looks like the new guy now till Cody gets back.

So many high-energy, exciting games this year. Great for the league!

Play of the game was Alexander shedding a certain sack in the backfield and finding Philpott for a long first down. The team took a different approach after that and momentum shited to the Als for the rest of the game. To Jason Maas, great call to have Alexander start the second half

Shifted not (shited)

Commissioner Randy Ambrosie and Canadian Football League head office officials need to address those irregular shaped endzones at Percival Stadium Montreal. The actual score to the Alouettes riders game should show 27 - 16 Montreal win. Those endzones costly and makes the CFL look Bush League. Fix it.

Hey Riderville, Shea Petterson got injured, who’s next in the Riders qb rotation? Surely not someone who has never played a down in a CFL game. Gm Oday needs to make the call to get last years injury fillin replacement behind the starter with #2 qb Mason Fine, get him back up to Saskatchewan immediately, he’s familiar with the playbook. Otherwise the Riders in big trouble trying to keep up with the rest in the West Division Standings as ole man Harris the big time signing bust highly suspect to further injury. Patterson could be seen in discomfort with injury on the field of play. Something has to be done before the season tanks once again in Riderville.

Where do you hear that Patterson is injured?

I think shited is more accurate here.

CRAP… I stopped watching the game because of those Damn horns mid 4th quarter!

Randy fix those horns they make the CFL “sound” bush league. :thinking: At least find fans that play the saxophone, now that’s a cool sound :saxophone::sunglasses:

Riderville;

Riderville always has something to complain about when the riders lose, now it’s fan horn noise from the stands in Montreal. Can’t wait for the other upcoming Riderville crying excuses next time the roughriders lose as the Riderville fans are a laugh a minute, Lol. On another note, Rider qb Patterson seen in discomfort (arm) on TSN game play and the tv announcers noticed it with mention during the broadcast,

ABC,

Did you not watch the televised game? TSN showed Patterson in high discomfort with a seemingly injured arm. The announcers adressed.

Saskatchewan Roughriders game notes;

If head coach cory mace would have concentrated more on the game at hand instead of worrying about vigorously incessantly chewing on his cud then maybe the Roughriders might have had a chance to win their game against the Alouettes. Another noted observation; It’s not the halfway mark of the CFL season and people are already, really tired of seeing mace vigorously chewing his cud on the sidelines, he thinks its a good look as a head coach, lol.

Talk about focusing on the inessentials. Mace has his team out to a 5-2 start despite an injury to his starting QB. That’s what matters, not what he’s chewing.

I watched the game. Im sure spending your life playing video games and trolling social media has kept you from playing sports so it may be hard to comprehend this; football is a real contact sport. Participants in the game experience discomfort due to the high impact tackling and physical blocking. Further, the announcers, while clearly more intelligent than you are just making their best guess based on what they see. No injury report, no mention of an injury post game. Your comments just sound like more deception from bomber land that wants to deflect away from their own troubles this year.

I don’t think anyone who reads a post like this takes it for anything but the hit job it is

Mmmmm, former Saskatchewan Roughriders coach and Grey Cup Champion Jason Mass has his Montreal Alouettes at 6-1 and on top of the CFL. Saskatchewan Roughriders had a CFL Champion coach right under their nose and didn’t even know it. Jason Mass football credentials speak for themselves - Football Champion. There’s something seriously wrong with the Roughriders football ops, bad decisions, bad choices all leading to disappointing results year after year with no Grey Cup. When will Riderville ever wake up and demand a high standard football administration instead of always being gullible to drinking whatever is in the green Koolaid cup.

I’m an Als fan, so I’m well aware of Jason Maas’s quality as a head coach. But Mace has done a great job in Saskatchewan so far. Period.

It seemes someone has a very large ax to grind here.
Despite the fact Maas is no longer in green the riders are doing quite well.
Looking back at past mistakes is a habbit of losers and angry people who know nothing more than to tear shite down and destroy .
Others choose to move forward despite the mistakes and just build .
I know who I would prefer to be and choose to be around
