Alouettes stay hot with win over Roughriders

REGINA — A matchup between the two division leaders on Friday night football did not disappoint. It was Davis Alexander and the Montreal Alouettes who came out on top in a dramatic 27-24 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

I’m a die hard Als fan and love the fact that they won in Saskatchewan and that Davis Alexander is showing such great potential, but honestly we also got lucky here with those missed field goals.

Really liked the way that Trevor Harris was playing…calm, cool and soooo precise! Seeing him in Montreal previously, I’ve been telling everyone…just wait till he is back in the lineup for Saskatchewan.

Starting QB out, possibly top 3 WRs out (Philpot/Grant/Snead), kicker Cote out - and they squeak out a road victory once again. Certainly not their best effort, but these guys have no quit in them. SASK is a solid team.

Brett Lauther will certainly be in the doghouse for a week, and his teammates should not speak to him —four tombstones he built on the road to defeat! ( Brett missed four field goals )

Lauther is a very good kicker with a big leg and I would hate to see a repeat of the McCallum mistake.

Find him a sports psychologist to help him believe he’s a great kicker again…

Davis Alexander in the future could be the best quarterback in the country. The talent scouts in Montreal should be loudly applauded, first, for the best sure-handed receivers, and now an elite pivot.

Another victory for Montreal. Albeit a lucky one, a victory nevertheless. Montreal has still got to improve the Offensive and Defensive lines. They are good but improvement is necessary.

How was this not out of bounds?

There is no doubt that andre proulx was montreal alouettes most valuable
participant. Time and again he rescued the Als with his ridiculous halfwit calls.
