Alouettes extend QB Davis Alexander through 2027

MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes are looking to keep their strong quarterback room intact.

Best offseason trade goes to Calgary. Best offseason signing so far is this one right here. Montreal has the most promising young qb in the East under contract for the next three years.

Fajardo may become the consolation for the VA suitors

Otherwise good to see him locked up.

Sounds like Alexander may have surpassed Fajardo. It would be nice to have both but most probably Fajardo will be on the move.

If the Als moved on from Fajardo, he/his skill set would fit best with the Bombers but I am not sure Winnipeg is emotionally prepared to move on from Zach, though it seems about time that they do. Of course, we don’t know who will be running the Bombers offense (rumors abound)…so?

Danny says Davis is the starter.

It’s pretty crowded in the “starting” QB room across the league right now. Fajardo wants to start but where? Word is the TiCats are looking at bringing Bo back so the East is out. Winnipeg, Calgary & BC are set. Can anyone see Cody going back to Regina being a popular move with the fans & dumping Harris? I don’t see the Elks handing him the keys. Right now there are a lot of veteran QB’s looking to start but I see only 1 seat left. :sunglasses:

Looked very impressive in every game I seen him in. Good for Montreal although I couldn’t imagine him making it to free agency. Just another great young QB in the CFL. Still Blue over the Bombers GC loss but already looking forward to the season opener in 2025

Fajardo will never come back to Saskatchewan as long as O’Day and Reynolds are employed. after how they screwed him over, I wouldn’t go back either. Craig Dickenson needs a good kick in the @#$@ over that.

I was so disappointed to see Cody leave Sask. He was a good fit here and never should have left. His situation was similar to that of Collaros when he was here. Both QBs were lined up behind horrible O lines and got hammered every game. In Zacs situation many in Riderville felt he should retire and take his concussion issues into retirement and consider his family and personal health. WBB took a huge chance by picking him up. But what they did was wise in making sure he was protected. The Bombers succes is still based on ability to control the line of scrimmage.

Had the Riders done this with Zac and Cody things would, in my opinion turned out better in Sk for both players and the Riders.

I personally would love to see Cody back in green. The coaching staff should have taken his helmet when he hurt his knee and sat him for the two or three months he needed to get healthy in his final year in green. But even more so, they needed to put some guys in front of him that could protect him.

So Rourke is the starter in B.C. and Ford is probably the #1 in Edmonton. Thompson is a free agent so could we see Fajardo signing with the Elks? As an Als fan I hate to see him go but looks inevitable

i don’t think he is for sure. I think they want to develop him more, I see the Elks going after a vet now.
