I have faith that the coaches will assess the situation clearly. But yes, let’s at least give Caleb a fair shot here. It’s not like other QBs haven’t struggled. Apart from Adams and Fajardo, every other QB, starting or backup, has had multiple bad games.
If Caleb messes the bed in the next two games, I’m fine with going to Alexander.
I’d like Maciocia and Maas to stop playing games with the paying public regarding player injuries. Fajardo is not going to play Thursday so stop pretending you don’t know and stringing people along. Don’t lie to the fans and the paying public to sell tickets.
I got to say with KJG out I am really wishing that we had taken a flyer on Ajou Ajou in the draft. He went in the 7th round, 59 overall to Sask and is looking the steal of the draft.
The issue with him was never talent it was everything else. Maciocia stated he has a type for the players he wants in his locker room and so far he’s stayed honest about that.
I loved Behar, a highly intelligent and articulate man. Probably a coach one day.
League rules require 3 QBs on the roster, so I understand they had to promote JM for that reason. There is nothing stopping the team from demoting him again Thursday morning if Cody is ready. I hope they do not activate Cody. His health is more important than winning this game. No other team nipping at their heels right now.
It’s definitely been a hard season for injuries. Not just significance of injury but volume as well as timing. We lost Snead and Stubblefield in the first game of the year, the latter for the whole season. Our starting boundary half and right tackle have yet to play a snap of football this year. Cody and KJG are out. And then there’s the rash of injuries to Canadian special teamers in recent weeks.
Let’s hope we can stay healthy in the second third of the season.
My gosh, Herb is hard to take seriously sometimes. “Sutton should solidify a defence that was exposed during a 37-18 defeat against Toronto, July 11…”
He is aware that giving up 23 points while playing 2 games in 5 days isn’t being “exposed”, right? As in, the defence had nothing to do with the pick-six Caleb threw or the TD we gave up on special teams?
Als have the top LT, LG and C … but RG and RT aren’t in the top 5 at their positions (i.e. therefore, in the bottom four of nine of the league) … hope McGloster is 100% soon
Tonight’s win was great, but I am concerned about a pattern of slow starts the past three or four games. It seems like we come out flat for 30 minutes and then pick up the pace in the second half. We need to be better prepared to play 60 minutes.
