Alouettes 2023 talk

I meant about ownership. sorry

Plus Richards and you can draft that kid from Montreal or the one from Laval to back up at MLB.

They need to focus on their offensive line if prospects are available.

I read, in Journal de Montréal ,"le mandat de Mario Cecchini avec les Alouettes va se terminer le 6 avril 2023."

I presume that the new/future President/CEO will be hired a week or two before the departure of Mario Cecchini.

It will probably be next week, but not as difficult waiting for this announcement as was the one for new ownership.

If next week the announcement of President/CEO, it will most probably be before the CFL Combine that starts on March 22,2023. Monday or Tuesday?

Optimistic won't cut it Jason, you need to be certain.

They should invite the top 3 candidates for the job to the combine and put them through the drills. Top aggregate score gets to be president.
:grinning:

What would you expect him to say in the media? Given everything that's transpired, being optimistic is about as much as we can hope to expect from him.

Let's let the man coach, now that we have an owner.

That is sort of how Kavis Reed ended up as GM. Andrew Wetenhal supposedly used some kind of scoring system with the candidates and once the points tallied, Reed came out on top.

Anyway, La Presse speculated about a week an half ago that Annie Larouche is the favorite to become the new President. Since nobody else that has been mentioned to my knowledge, I would expect it is her if an announcement is made soon.

I will certainly not be critical of whoever PKP names as President, am just grateful that it is him making the choice.

And if it's Larouche we won't have to worry that the cheerleaders will be cancelled. :grinning:

Still hopping for Eric Lapointe though even If I don’t really know Annie Larouche.

Lapointe have a lot of connections in the MTL business area, with the media, in the CFL world and he does knows Football.

I agree about Eric Lapointe but I think it would be difficult for him to give up his business as a financial planner to become President.

As the team owner he could have continued with his business, but not as President.

Do agree and was surprise to see his name as candidates but every media have bring him name in the candidates so maybe he’s interested

After reading this piece, I think she sounds like an excellent candidate. She knows the city. She knows sports. And she knows promotion.

And Quebecor has a Sports & Entertainment division that can give her any initial guidance that is required.

Interesting. Something to revisit when the renovations are close to being completed, say around 2030.
