What an odd thing to say…that is if VA has a good year that is reason to fire DM. By that logic DM should get an extension if VA has a poor year…
It is good to see Adams do well. I wish him the best. I also feel like we stiffed him in Mtl. I mostly understand Harris bolting for Sask given the ownership disaster, but I also think Mtl essentially revived his career with a competent OL and good receivers and his answer was see you later suckers. Not big of me, but I kinda hope Sask flops this year.
Saskatchewan is trying to “buy” their way out of mediocrity. It will fail.
Adams has always been a polarizing figure. I for one have never considered him a decent QB because of his inconsistency/interceptions.
But he now has all the legitimate support a QB requires - coaching, receivers, o-line. So we should finally find out this season where he ranks.
Same. We gave Trevor Harris the opportunity to restart his CFL career. He was dead in the water coming over from Edmonton. We gave him Eugene Lewis and a cadre of great receivers, a good O-line, and a great stable of running backs behind him. AC devised a game plan to max his strengths and hide his weaknesses. Our reward for that was a big ol’ boot to the face when it came time for free agency. It was his choice, just like it’s my choice to hope that the Riders flop this year.
Game is on RDS tonight for those who might not know.
Maciocia wanted character players in his locker room
I personally hope Harris runs for his life all season and proves his old teammates right about their evaluation of him.
Have no issue with Harris leaving.
He was looking for answers on the organization and up to the day off of FA Maciocia could not provide it.
Same goes for Lewis.
Harris stays - is Fajardo with the ALS?
My quick hits after tonight’s game:
- Mack, Davis, and maybe Brunner will stick at receiver.
- Caleb Evans should not be on the team, but will be because apparently being able to do a good QB sneak means you don’t have to do anything else.
- Ento, Stubblefield, and Ruffin should stay.
- If you’re counting on Gagnon to play center, maybe reconsider.
- Stanback ran like the other team owed him money. Ran over people, ran with hate. He’s going to be hard for teams to handle this year.
- Mayala should be cut but won’t be.
- Chandler Worthy’s job is not in danger.
- I am going to be very upset if Antwine isn’t on the roster. He gave Hamilton all kinds of problems tonight inside. I’d frankly take him over Sewell but we know that’s not going to happen.
- Alexander showed some good things but missed wide-open receivers on multiple occasions.
They Will keep both
I hope so. We can only have so many defensive linemen on the roster. Maybe Usher being injured will allow us to keep more people longer…
On missing passes, Caleb Evans was the leader on that front. Alexander brings a lot of different things to their offense.
Alexander missed a wide-open Snead in the end zone. He needs to settle down and work on his mechanics. I agree that Evans was far worse on that front (on every front, really).
I suspect the team was planning on keeping and dressing Reggie Stubblefield as the backup DB who also played Special Teams. But after tonight’s performance where he missed a tackle and gave up a TD, I wonder if they will try somebody else instead.

Has Evans always thrown side-arm ? Was just just watching that last night and I hadn’t noticed. To me, his throwing motion is all off. I really think we’d be better off with Alexander and Glass.
All Star LT Derek Dennis have been release. I hope where gonna give him a call.
For me, the players who deserve a spot are Mack, Davis, Ento, Antwine, Rodgers, and Reed. On the bubble: Snead, Letcher, Stubblefield. Should be cut but won’t: Mayala, Caleb Evans.
