Alouettes 2022 talk

Our friend Richard better not read this. :slightly_smiling_face:

Too late, Sheldon. I already did read.In line with what he has been saying since training camp and beginning of season. I understand, he cannot say that they don't have a team to compete with the better teams, since he's the one who chose most of the players.

We will see what he has to say after game 8 and game 9. As I wrote last week, my focus/attention will be the 7 games remaining against East teams.

Yes, they could have won games that they lost but the same applies to Hamilton and Ottawa. I don't care if you lose by 15,20 points or 1 or 3 points, a loss is a loss in the standing and they are 2-5. Despite records in the East, presently I see the Alouettes as number 4 in the East. Close is only good when you play horseshoes.

They could surprised us next Thursday, but I foresee that they will lose. They will/should have problems stopping the runs of Winnipeg.

Richard

Perre Vercheval saying that line play on both sides of the ball needs to get better.

Two teams from the East will be in the playoffs. On this August 1st, 2022, I predict -in alphabetical order-that it will be Hamilton and Ottawa. Toronto is not as good as I expected at beginning of season; if a team can stop the runs from Andrew Harris, as Ottawa did yesterday, they will lose more than they will win. Montréal? At beginning of season I expected them to be fourth in the East and I have not changed my mind.

Richard

And on top of that they are a very undisciplined bunch, prone to shooting themselves in the foot at the worst possible time.

Dinwiddie might be on thin ice, as it appears he has lost control.

It’s funny, the guy who dumped his HC & DC in the middle of the season says in the article how stability & continuity are a big part of the Bombers success.

Montreal imo opinion created its QBs QB controversy when they chose to bring back Harris into the fold in FA, Now they must be very clear going forward. I think they should release one or the other. Personally I think they should release Harris but either way one needs to go.
Then I think they should go back and run the ball with as much power as they can muster. They need to be freed up and just play ball.

Contrary to what Miguel Bujold wrote, Chris Ackie was not supposed to come off the 6 game injury list after this week's game; unless we received wrong information, Chris Ackie was added to 6 game injury list starting only with game 7; he has been on that list for games 7 and 8 and would come off only after game 12, on September 2,2022. For games 3,4 and 5 he was on 1 game injury list.

Since he was not eligible to come off the list before September 3,2022, this explains why the Alouettes had to take him off the 6 game injury list today in order for him to practice today and most probably play next Thursday. By doing so, the Alouettes will "lose" roughly $6,000 against the cap and add $6,000 to 1 game injury list.-games 7 and 8. A $12,000 turnover or addition.

Richard

There hasn’t been one word of a QB controversy on the team, other than on the forum here.

Ineffective play by both QBs - Yes. Controversy - No.

They benched Adams for Harris who hasn’t been as effective as they thought, certainly not helped by his o-line.

Should they go back to Adams? That’s above my pay scale.

To be fair though they fired Mack and Lapolice got back to basics and hired a new president

To be fair though the Bombers fired every body and then went Canadian and local. Fired the president and hired a local Wade Miller. He fired Joe Mack as GM and promoted a Canadian Walters as GM who then hired O’shea who then hired Lapolice as OC a local resident . They then established their identity. Then they brought in Harris a Winnipeg kid and then said this is who we are and will always be.

Well said Pierre…as usual!

I’m envious of the Bombers.

What I’m pissed about is if Maciocia wanted to clean house he should have done it in the off-season.

Well if you don’t think there is a a QB controversy i don’t think you are looking. I see it monumentally differently than you.

It is not too late imo going forward even if it means next year.

You’re certainly allowed your perspective, but there has not been one word in the media of any issues.

Despite being on the injured list they took Adams to Hamilton & you could see him cheering on his teammates.

The only issue has been the mediocre play of both of them.

What issues have you seen?

So a lost season, I’m sure the owner will be thrilled.

I’ve seen a team unable to decide who their on-field leader is…
I’ve seen QBs unable to play without fear.
I’ve seen media speculation galore.
I’ve seen a good group underachieving.
I see a team unable to categorically state and show who and what they are.

i never said it is a lost season.

I've seen media speculation galore. Who? Where?
I've seen a good group underachieving. **Perhaps, but nothing to do with QB issues.

What about the coaching changes in all this?
