ScienceDaily (Jan. 15, 2010) — More than a third of National Football League (NFL) players who sustained an Achilles tendon injury were never able to return to professional play according to research in the current issue of Foot & Ankle Specialist (published by SAGE). The injured players who did return to active play averaged a 50% reduction in their power ratings.
I not would count on him Returning
We are not talking about a punishing fullback, like Lovell Coleman,
we are talking about one of the 3 blind mice, Al Mc Coleman, ONknight.
I agree Onknight...... Achilles injuries are brutal !......and for a referee they can be a career ending injury. The risk of a recurrance is huge in an activity which requires a person to accelerate quickly from a standing start. Football referees do just that. He may come back with lots of therapy, but the injury will be a weakness and will always be there.
I worked with his son and spent X-mas eve at his house one year. Classy guy, hope he is back.
