Did anyone see the Fifth Estate on Friday night?
Interesting piece on Al Brenner ... I had forgotten that he disappeared back in the 80's with no trace to his whereabouts.
Unfortunately, he is a shadow of his former self today and still appears to be struggling with the demons who changed his life many years ago.
I believe you can see the "piece" in its entirety on the CBC website.
Indeed!

That was a very interesting segment on Al Brenner, deiz.
It was mindblowing back in the mid 80’s
when I first heard about him disappearing.
Imagine, he called his wife from the GO station
and said she could pick up the car there, keys in it.
He took no money, clothes or passport with him
and left behind a house, mortgage and 3 or 4[?] kids
his was and no income coming in to the household.
P.S.
This should be the 3rd post because I posted it at 10:24 AM
Such a sad story.
I remember him well in his Ticat years. The year he made 15 interceptions in a 14 game season stands as a record unlikely to fall for many more.
His family saying they have accepted his actions and forgiven him for them is a great testament to their characters as human beings.
Just finished watching the Al Brenner segment, man to drop out like that.Quite a different life from football star to where he is today.
