An apology jumps jumped to mind for Kevin Glenn.

744 NHL games, 401 wins (10th in NHL history), 216 loses, 66 ties and 42 O/T losses, 2.49 GAA. 3 Stanley Cups.

Impressive stats, accumulated over 17 seasons; arguably Hall of fame numbers.

But I would no more want Chris Osgood as my team's goalie than Kevin Glenn as my team's QB.

For what it`s worth, probably not much, TSN predicting Jackson will sign with Wpg. because he played 4 yrs. with Willy at Univ. of Buffalo.

He was impressive for BC the latter part of the season.

I’m not saying it’s got to be Crompton all the way: I’m happy if it’s a guy with a potential future like Crompton, Marsh or LeFevour for that matter. Just not Glenn.

Why would the Als/Jim Popp be interested in an Int. free agent WR when they have Green,Stamps,London and Gilyard. I doubt that Chad Johnson will be on the roster once the 2015 season begins. Jim Popp will definitely add a few Int. rookies.

As I wrote, Nat. WR Samuel Giguère is the only player that should be signed, provided he becomes a free agent and he is not asking $100,000 or more. I doubt that Jim Popp will offer much more than $90,000 to Giguère. If not enough to him,let him go elsewhere.

For a while, I thought that Kevin Glenn could be a worthy addition, but not anymore, due mainly to his age and what salary he would ask. Let's sign 1 or 2 rookie QBs and release Brink.

Richard

Giguere was making 85k and offered a modest raise 95k ??? So 100 to 125 k is market but to Ottawa may go to 150 range.

But these guys aren’t ready. Marsh hasn’t played a quarter of football since 2013. LeFevour won’t be running till August…

I still don’t get this anti-Glenn thing. One could easily argue that throwing a young QB in too soon can be just as disastrous for his development as not giving him playing time. If Mitchell had been forced to start as soon as Tate got hurt, who knows what would have happened? And as it turned out, spending time cutting his teeth did not hurt his development. In BC, once Lulay went down, you think Beck or Partridge could have done better behind that awful O-line? Not a chance. Glenn allowed BC to salvage its season.

Anthony Calvillo almost didn’t make it because of being thrown in the fire too soon. Spending a few years watching a pro like Tracy Ham was crucial to his development. There’s this feast-or-famine argument that we can either find our QB of the future, or make do in the present with Glenn, but not both. And it’s wrong. You can do both. What on earth would be wrong with Glenn pushing Crompton in camp? It might actually spur Crompton to excel.

If Ottawa wants to pay Giguère $150,000 well they can sign him. He is not worth more than $100,000. Won’t be a disaster if he does sign with the Als.

Richard

Let me be clear: my heart won't be broken if we don't sign Glenn. But I can certainly see the value in going after him. In any case, as Hfx pointed out, the case is moot. All indications suggest that the coaches see Crompton as the undisputed starter and so the competition at TC will be limited to who wins the no. 2 spot. I think it's a dangerous game to put all our eggs in one basket with many holes, but like Hfx, I hope I'm wrong.

From the Tiger-Cats twitter it appears Banks will be returning to Ham. Better get to work Kavis!

Great news for Hamilton and CFL fans. Brandon Banks is a great player, particularly as a returner, and, while it will be harder to beat Hamilton with Banks in the lineup, I nevertheless am happy for the Hamilton fans. Better than if he was signing with a NFL team.

The 2015 season will be more interesting.

Richard

Turk has been around long enough to know what is best for the offensive team so, I will respect whatever decisions he makes as he's in charge of that team. I also would like to have Giguere join the team. He's a thousand times better than the Decoy but, I don't believe we should not break the bank to sign him. My hunch is that Montreal is the right city for him. I gather that Turk will be the one in charge of the QBs and, will attend to the development needs of both Crompton and Marsh. I have been thinking that Glen would be a good addition as he would bring experience to the QB situation but, it appears Regina is desperate for a good second string player and, I perceive their need is greater than ours and, they will be willing to spend the $ that Glen will likely demand.

Speaking of Banks and Hamilton special teams, Jeff Reinebold is one of 3 candidates for the Simon Fraser head coaching job that Chapdelaine left. Mark Speckman is one of the other 2 candidates.

As I wrote, Nat. WR Samuel Giguère is the only player that should be signed, provided he becomes a free agent and he is not asking $100,000 or more. I doubt that Jim Popp will offer much more than $90,000 to Giguère. If not enough to him,let him go elsewhere.

He’s not worth it if your going to line him up at Z but as a starting slot it can make sense. Depends where you plan on playing him. I think at 125k he’d be worth it. For one its and extra 350 yards over Deslaurier’s production and he will help a ton promoting the team.

How is he even worth it inside? You've said yourself in the past that he's good for two routes: go patterns downfield or hitch/bang routes where he turns and sits on a pass. He can't make catches in traffic with consistency, he can't read hot off a blitz -- how can he be effective at slotback? It just wouldn't be worth it if he's asking for north of 100k. I'd much rather play Stamps inside and see if Gilyard can't develop into a credible Z threat...

I would not put line him up in the slot but I could see how a team like Ottawa might be tempted to do it and pay him 150k. They are so weak at the receiver position and their ratio does not benefit having 5 Nationals on the Oline.

With the Als he’s a fifth receiver the same he is in Hamilton or most other teams in the CFL.

Tu as beaucoup de classe, Richard.
