Win? not likely. They could start gainer at qb and we’d still lose in montreal. Have we actually won there since Joe Barns said it was like shooting ducks in a barrel?
Tough, Riders are rolling and Fajardo is likely out, but…
Montréal is top of the league this year and Montreal is coming off a bye and the game is in Montreal.
I’ll likely pick the Riders in the pool, but that will be more hoping than predicting.
Always with the negative vibes Moriarty
With Fajardo out the Als were beaten at home easily by the Argos and then the Argos went down to the winless Ticats.
Tough to predict this year.
The Als won’t win with their backup
We HOPE
Did you say that last year as well? You know, when we got hammered and it was over by the 10 minute mark of Q1. Must be the night life in Montreal.
Are you comparing last years team with this one?
I don’t think the Als can win with Caleb Evans as the starter
And yet the Als went 2-0 with Evans as the starter in 2023.
I would be on board with you if the game was in Regina. It’s “show me mode” in Montreal much like it has been for many teams visiting us. Sure hope you are right!
We were travelling and listened to the game on the radio. They sounded gassed at the end - injuries, travel to the east and short week. Tough loss, but they were in it until the end. Sounded like Hickson played really well.
If anyone knows Dave Thomas (play by play on CKRM) please tell him to go into more details about the penalties (we can’t see the replay on the radio) and rider injuries (we can’t see the number). I like Dave & Luke and think they are doing a good job. Luke needs to try & stop being so negative. Not as bad as Carm C. But getting there. Just my 2 cents.
1 more thing.
I really hate those stupid horns in Montreal. Can they be used at new Taylor Field or are they prohibited? If they can be used Riders should start selling them in their stores. I would buy them.
It’s the home team’s decision what to allow at the game. I can’t stand the horns. I’m a big Als fan, but I kept cycling through Mute, decrease volume, increase volume etc as the ball changed hands. At the game , if you sit on the north side of the stadium it can be tolerable, but frankly it keeps me from attending games.
Somebody mentioned that there are actually only a couple or so horns but they are right beside the press box
As for the game, last year was the same travel on a short week. As for the defence i really wish i could see some decent man coverage when it’s called for.
I understand the horns, noise etc in the stadium that’s fair enough but TSN needs to mute it out for the TV broadcast.
If you have ever been to an NFL game with 60k fans it’s loud but it never drowns out the TV play by play guys.
It’s almost like TSN has microphones in the stands, we don’t need that noise, mute it out
They did not.
They did with the backup to the backup (also as a nasty surprise).
Do you hate them ? If so, why would you buy them ?
Canadian Tire.
Sadly i don’t speak French buy happily outlook does unlike this site Thanks for the info.
Anyway, about the game. Should we have called a timeout on Alfords fumble? It would give the team an minute to get there heads right, as it turns out they didn’t need, but would also give us and the booth time to review the fumble.
See this done in the past for both reasons and i believe we were wondering if it was a fumble or not and simply didn’t have the time to check.
So it’s the Bird rematch. Hope the team has an axe to grind because i’m dusting off the grill.
What is the O plan this time around? A good mix of downfield attack and ball control or stick with one theme until it breaks and then forget to adapt?
Our staff needs to be better this time.
