CONGRATES ON YOUR GC RING WHO IS EATING CROW NOW  :rockin:

One of the major reasons the Lions are champs. End of the line for Obie due to this?

Congrats Arland. I still feel we should have got more when you were traded. See you Leos next year.

do we not get a higher draft pick? i believe it was conditional on what they did the rest of the season.

i think we should at least get a 1st rounder, if not Travis Lulay!

Congratulations Arland Bruce. You deserved it. Great TD. You showed that you are the go-to guy when the going gets tough.
You can thank MB every time you wear your Grey Cup ring.

Congratulations, Arland. Grey Cup champion.

the man still has it, and we don't have the man. :frowning:

grats AB

Puff Diddy would be proud if he gave a ..............

... and Jock Climie gives the game ball to Arland Bruce for his exceptional performance in helping to lead the BC Lions to the Grey Cup championship. Congrats again Arland.
I wish we had a player of your calibre. Oh yea, we did but we traded him away for nothing.

AB3 should change his name to P. Diddy's Slave.

I’d take Williams over Bruce any day.

Congratulations AB3.

That day will come, but it wasn’t this year of any year previous.

And once again, the team that trades Arland Bruce comes to regret it. I am 100% positive that the team could have used Arland's veteran experience and ability in the EDF. Meanwhile, Bruce helped BC win a Grey Cup.

Letting AB3 go for virtually nothing was crazy. A dumb football move. When you have a superior, proven talent, it's up to the coaches and GM to work with him to keep him with the team. The Argos have yet to replace AB3 and Bart Andrus paid the price partly for letting AB3 go for no return. The same fate should be meted out to Obie and Marcel.

An Argo-Cat fan

I don’t understand why the Ti-Cats would regret it. it’s still the right move, IMO, for both Hamilton, and B,C.

I agree that the Argos did not replace him, but Hamilton was a different story. AB3 was displaced by up and comers. Williams was more productive and is much more of a threat than Bruce is now. And Grant showed us all in the great win against Montreal why he’s on the team. Bruce is still a good, productive and useful receiver, but the Tiger-Cats needed many other concerns addressed before the receiver position.

As much as I miss watching him play for the tabbies (love that tough style), I find it funny how he didn’t like being second fiddle in Hamilton, but he’s OK with it in B.C.

Why was it the right move for Hamilton to trade a proven elite receiver in a season when they were supposedly gunning for the Grey Cup, obtaining virtually nothing in return, and given the fact that they didn’t make it past the EDF? I have to believe that Bruce could have helped this team down the stretch and in the postseason. And before you mention Montreal, the Als were riddled with injuries on defense, particularly in the secondary. It didn’t need much to post up big numbers against them. But against Winnipeg’s D? That’s exactly when you do need a guy like Arland Bruce, who’s seen it all and who can still break a game open in the clutch. And that’s what he did for BC, all the way to their Grey Cup championship.

Well it looked like his 'elite" status was questioned, and his contract was a burden, especially when you had to let a talented receiver go because you’re blessed with such depth at that position. hard to get anything of value for an import reciver past his prime, with such a huge contract.

Furthermore, the Hamilton receiving corps played very well in the playoffs, secondary injuries or not.

Keep in mind, Bruce’s numbers this year were closer to Stala’s than Williams’. Can he be considered elite when he finishes 12th in the league with 859 yard on 58 catches? It was the right move at the right time, for the Tiger-Cats, for the Lions and for Bruce himself. I’m happy for everybody.

It was all about establishing a run game against the Winnipeg D. Hamilton could not, and was done offensively.

Not only did BC establish a ground game with Andrew Harris, they also had their secondary keying on Simon which helped Bruce.

Again, having Bruce in Hamilton would have made no difference in the loss to Winnipeg, especially when they could not get a ground game going.

Compared to Hamilton, B.C. has the superior QB and Offensive line and that will always lead to good performances by receivers.
