Is this new league a threat to the cfl. I looked at the website and its gaining momentum, but it mentioned something about having to graduate. Peter Warrick, Eric Crouch, and Chris Leak are representing the league it seems. I heard they are about to sign Tay Cody which would be a huge blow to the Cats!
No more than the XFL was.

Eric Crouch is horrible.
Warrick = bust.
Chris Leak is half decent, but I seriously doubt that he will ever be anything special.

The AAFL is just another expansion ploy. In a season or three most of the teams will fold and the successful ones will become part of the NFL.

In my opinion, when the NFL finally comes to Toronto, and the CFL kicks its butt.

Bottom line for me is that for those of us who live in or near a CFL city, it's nice going to see a high-level football game without having to drive a long distance. Heck, I don't even like driving to Toronto from Hamilton and it's only about an hour drive. Another reason the CFL will be fine with this new league.
THE LEAGUE IS A AMERICAN LEAGUE.........ONLY THING IT COMPETES AGAINST IS THE TALENT THAT DOESNT MAKE NFL ROSTERS.......I HEARD THE LEAGUE WILL PAY MORE THAN THE CFL.....SO WHERE WOULD YOU WANT TO BE COLD PARTS OF CANADA IN THE FALL OR WARM TEXAS OR FLORIDA......THE TALENT ASE OF AMERICAN TALENT GETS SMALLER....I THINK THE CFL SHOULD PLAY AGAINST THIS LEAGUE IN A ALL STAR GAME.......
sandusky, I'll take the cold parts of Canada rather than the swamps of Florida or with the rednecks of Texas, thank you very much. Also much less chance of getting killed in our country, which can be important to some. But I realize that your fellow Americans might not see this point of view. :lol:
The CFL need not worry. It will diminish the talent pool for a couple of years, but once the new league folds, it will be back to normal. In fact, the new league may be a good thing. In a sense, it will help, “grow?, new talent and when the AAFL eventually folds, this talent will land in the CFL.
How will the talent pool be diminished?
People seem to have forgotten that the NFL’s venture to setup a league folded last season.
So there’s all kinds of players walking around without a job. So really, you could say their is more potential talent out there.
Not that it really matters. Because this AAFL will not even get off the ground. And if it does, who will this affect the CFL again?
