Well its official. The All American Football League has just finalized a deal to put a team in Toronto.
Read the article here at http://www.allamericanfootballleague.com/
With all the US expansion talks, how does it feel that a all US league has just successfully expanded into Canada?
Will Argo fans be split in half now that there is a new team in the city? Or is Toronto big enough for 2 teams in two different leagues?
Now that Toronto has a team in the AAFL I wonder how its going to affect the CFL?
Oh one more thing....
APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!!
Disregarding the joke (nice job on 7 posts in 6 minutes btw), I would not be even the least bit threatened by a new pro football league ... how many of those have tried and failed in the past 30 years? They've got a good idea by going off the college thing ... but I doubt it will work. The only pro football (most) Americans will support is the NFL.
One word. Toronto Phantoms. Arena Football League. A Paul Godfrey idea. Lasted two years. Couldn't draw flies. Gone and long forgotten.
its not a successfull afj if you dont have at least one victim
Besides BB, the league has already hit a speed bump and is delaying their "kickoff" until Spring 2008 now!
Pretty soon to be dead and buried!!http://www.al.com/sports/birminghamnews ... xml&coll=2
April fools is April fools. No one handed me a rule book saying that I can or can not post on April fools.
Well I liked it! With a largely unknown league like that one, it’s conceivable that something like this would have slipped under the radar right up until the announcement. If you’d have gone with the NFL, that would have been too much of a reach.
Alot of the people I told laughed their heads off.
I bet alot of these guys fell for it too.
Good April Fools joke BB, but I think berezin nailled the reason it wouldn't work!
Hamilton Screaming Eagles and London Silverbacks of the NAFL.
LOL good responce captainkirk, you do realize that my points in this thread were part of the joke right.
However good point.
101 teams in one league is pretty good.
Better than 8,lol
ONE HUNDRED AND ONE TEAMS?!?!?
I'd take 8 teams over 101 any day ...
