The complete oversight of the Commissioner to make an interim statement on the abuse of a female employee of the Toronto Argonauts on or before the CFL Draft shows the CFL a does not take gender violence seriously. This is a Commissioner who has hidden behind a February 2024 announced investigation who has become conspicuous by his silence. If this was a positive drug test or confirmation of a player gambling on CFL games, would the CFL been this quiet for so long without action or consequences as they have been with this serious allegation of gender or sexual abuse? Would the player be allowed to even enter Training Camp as if nothing had happened? Does the CFL even consider suspension with full pay of the player in question until the investigation is complete to protect the safety of other female employees or even the integrity of the CFL itself? The year is 2024, so what would have been the reaction if these events happened in the NFL with the identification of a gender abuse incident? How long will the CFL Board of Governors tolerate the HR mismanagement of dignity of CFL female employees from this Commissioner?
