I couldn’t make the drive down to the game Saturday night (from Barrie) due to other commitments, but I do plan on attending a game or two before the season is over. However, after watching last nights game on TV, I have one demand if you want me to continue to attend Ticat games in Hamilton: WILL YOU PLEASE SHOOT THAT LOUDMOUTH OBNOXIOUS PA ANNOUNCER YOU HAVE INFLICKED ON PATRONS OF IVOR WYNN STADIUM. I had to sit though a few games with him last year and he just about drove me away and I almost wanted to turn down the sound after hearing him on the telecast last night. PA announces are not suppose to be
cheerleaders but should exude an air of professionalism when announcing game stats. What you have is childish, amateurish and bush; not to mention down right irritating! Sitting next to a obnoxious loudmouth during a game is a hazard you accept when you by a ticket, but I don’t expect that obnoxious loudmouth to be screaming into the microphone after every play. I have enjoyed games at Ivor Wynn since 1968 but having to listen to him makes attend games more of an ordeal than I would like. I am hoping for a drastic improvement before my first game this season because I don’t want it to be my last.

I agree with most of the folks saying the PA guy is annoying. However, I have to disagree with the point about how the PA guy shouldn't be a cheerleader. Let me explain. If there's a 5 yard run, he should say, 5 yard run by Lumsden, tackled by O'Shea, 2nd and 5.
BUT, if there’s a big play, then I think it’s quite alright to say “50 yard touchdown bomb to Amerson!” with some conviction.
I was astounded by what I heard last night over the usual Lee-Walby patter. I thought Madden games were the most audio-challenged things in football for the fans cheering in the background like a team just won the Super Bowl in the preseason, but Farr's 120-decibel attempts to be a third-rate adult-lounge announcer have no place in a football game.

IT’S ONLY A FIRST DOWN!!! LMAO
Anything that blocks out Walby has to be a good thing in some way, no??
Some times I would just like some silence. I go through all the B.S. at jays games there never is any quiet for a few seconds. There always has be something going on. Why does there have to be something going on for every second. I would like to hear myself think when I go to a game. After awhile you tune the guy out, if he didn't talk so much you might be more inclined to listen when he does.
You people are unbelievable!!! The football team sucks, there is NO entertainment value at the games and you're worried about the g.d. stadium announcer!!!! F.Y.I. The announcers job has changed in the past decade to a cheerleading roll because times have changed. Look at sports like arena football, u.f.c. and other "sports" that are fighting for our $$$$$. Give the guy a break, he's just doing what he's asked by his employer.s ( the ti-cats!!!)>
I agree that Jason Farr’s current style is bad and a distraction instead of an enhancement…But he wouldn’t be doing it this way unless someone from the organization were giving him the OK and maybe even telling him how he should do it. It’s perhaps the worst public address presence at a sports event I have ever be exposed to. I hope someone takes notice of the fans’ feeling on tihs and makes an adjustment.
