Well I guess it’s been a while since I posted on here. As harmless as this incident seemed during the game I still feel it needs to be addressed. I know most fans treat the cheerleaders well, but sadly there are a few that don’t.
During the fourth quarter a fan in box E decided it would be a good idea to throw a shirt onto the field to get the attention of the cheerleaders. The cheerleaders just shrugged it off, but this act was completely disrespectful nonetheless. These ladies put in a lot of time and effort to entertain the fans at IWS, and they deserve to be treated better than this. This is the first time I have seen a fan do anything like this, and I certainly hope it is the last as well.
To the fans, if anyone sees another fan throwing items on the field, whether at a cheerleader, player, staff member or nobody in particular, please let security know. These fans ruin the environment at IWS for the rest of us and should not be at the games. They should be at home watching the games on TV.
To all the cheerleaders at the TiCats games, you’re doing an awesome job! Keep up the great work!
Well if you want them to sign a shirt don't throw it at them, walk up and hand it to them. Otherwise, security will pick it up and you won't see it again...
Yeah, its disrespectful and also definetly against the rules. On the other hand, they are grown women, they probably had a good laugh about it. Well, assuming it wasn't accompanied with a drunken offensive verbal attempt at flirting, I would imagine they wouldn't be offended and would laugh at it, I don't pretend to speak for them.
And I'm going to use this post as an excuse to slip in how much I love the Tiger-Cats cheerleaders.
8) Another incident occurred in front of Box B and involved the Junior Cheerleaders !!! About 6 cops arrived all of a sudden and escorted 2 or 3 guys out of the stadium that were sitting in the front row. One of the girls appeared to be quite upset about something !!!!!
The junior cheerleaders scare me. I worry that one of these days a couple players are going to crash into them. I don't think they should be along the sidelines during the game.
