Would any one besides me like to see a few more teams in the CFL? I mean it would be a great way to shake things up. I was thinkig about this the other day and it occured to me just how they could do it.
Vancouver Lions instead of B.C Lions
Victoria Cougers *
Edmonton Eskimos
Calagry Stampeders
Sask Roughriders
Brandon Bobcats *
Winipeg BlueBombers
Toronto Argonaughts
Hamilton Ti-Cats
Ottawa - Renegades *
Montreal - Alouettes
Quebec City - Raiders *
= New Team.
Now I know it will never happpen like this but personally I think it would make the league more intresting. What are your thoughts on this.

There are just over 40,000 people living in Brandon including small children and babies too young to follow a game. Even when you combine Brandon and their entire trading area there are about 70,000 to 100,000 people max.
I don't think the Brandon Bobcats will be making their CFL debut anytime soon.

Well RP73.... you've done well so far. I can surmise from your 9 posts that you're relatively new around here.
That's why Chief was being gentle

Now that you've opened the can of worms, be prepared for discussion about:
- expansion to Milwaukee
- return to Baltimore (or Las Vegas!!!)
- teams in Wawa, Kapuskasing, and on Mars
- and even one in Detroit!
There will be arguments about names, stadiums, the size of cities and their metropolitan areas, and the import rules. Have fun. As for me.....
10 teams IMO will be fine, for starters anyway. Eight is Enough is a lame old TV show, not a formula for football. If you add Quebec and Ottawa, the whole deal will become alot more interesting by giving each team another two opponents and it will eliminate some repetition in the schedule.
If the CFL can't get past eight teams for some reason, it might want to consider shortening the regular season and going to a bracket style, 8-team double-elim. playoff format to compensate for any lost revenue.
It has become very apparent that many people don't understand the economics of putting a football team in a city...
you can't just choose a city because it looks good!
Saskatoon isn't big enough on its own.. it needs the whole province.. Just like Regina right now, the whole province helps support the team.
Victoria will NEVER get a team.. forget it, STOP thinking it.
Brandon? what the F?
there are only 2 maybe 3 cities in the Entire Damn country..
Quebec City, Ottawa and Halifax. ok??
Population determines EVERYTHING!
there will be maximum 10 teams in the CFL for the next 100-200 years. until Saskatoon is 800,000 and Red Deer is 500,000 and Victoria is 800,000 and so on..
"London calling to the faraway towns
Now war is declared - and battle come down
London calling to the underworld
Come out of the cupboard, you boys and girls
London calling, now don't look to us
Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust
London calling, see we ain't got no swing
'Cept for the reign of that truncheon thing
CHORUS
The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in
Meltdown expected, the wheat is growing thin
Engines stop running, but I have no fear
Cause London is drowning and I, live by the river
London calling to the imitation zone
Forget it, brother, you can go at it alone
London calling to the zombies of death
Quit holding out - and draw another breath
London calling - and I don't wanna shout
But while we were talking I saw you nodding out
London calling, see we ain't got no high
Except for that one with the yellowy eyes
CHORUS x2
The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in
Engines stop running, the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
Cause London is drowning and I, I live by the river
Now get this
London calling, yes, I was there, too
An' you know what they said? Well, some of it was true!
London calling at the top of the dial
And after all this, won't you give me a smile?
London Calling
