Um… Glenn had 5,117 passing yards. So what else did you embellish?
While I might not say we have the best roster in the league - we sure aren't far from it. It's not like this is a team with nobodies - we got the guys, they just have to bring it and play like a team.
I'll say that we (1-5) have more talent than the Riders (6-0), and I don't think they can really argue that. But the riders have been able to overcome their obstacles, where we have not (yet). Don't worry, the season is not even half over. I'm confident this bunch pulls it together for a string of wins, and makes a run in the PO's.
Now Chief, don't you go picking on Brendan now. How many GM's come on to the forum and trash their Head Coach, Trash the Assistant Coaches, Embelish the lineup, blame the fans, blame the peanut vendors......???
I actually agree.... Apparently Bery's contract runs for another two years... Apparently a community owned team like the Bombers is stuck with Berry because if they had to hire another quality coach then they'd be double paying (probabably over 500K in wasted cash)
If the Bombers bite the big one today say 63-3(Toronto is going to lose so no harm done) Maybe the Bombers will bite the bulet and get rid of Berry.
Bombers ... umm they have issues.
Where exactly are the bombers so much more talented than the riders? Starting at the beggining of the year…our recievers equal, qb’s starters are both older and we both have good young up and comers, we have the better all round running back (notice how i said all round), our oline is a heck of a lot better…defensively…your d line is better, linebackers are equal and our db’s are better…
All in all i’d say its pretty close i would favor either team as more talented…
I not saying that the Bombers are lights out more talented, just showing how close it is from last to first.
But since you want to play, looking at the rosters from the begining of the year (as you said) not a single GM or coach in the league would disagree that WPG has the better team on paper. I really don't think our receivers are equal, we have 4 of the best on the same team! On paper we had the East MOP at QB, you guys were going in with Crandall! Cates is a great RB, and has picked it up this year. Our Oline is one of if not the best (and deepest), but when you have most of your starters injured it tends to not look so good.
Yes I'm talking about on paper and the game is not played on paper (too bad for us). The Bombers have had serious melt downs, and that talent is not coming together. Saskatchewan is winniing despite of lack of stars (big talent), injuries, and other obstacles - they are playing as a pure team, and that's awesome. Every other fan is jealous. But come on, even the most Green fan would not have predicted that ASask would be 5-0 and WPG 1-5.
Fans who say their team 'has the best talent in the league' need to be politely taken outside and given a meticulous, lengthy cock-punching.
It's just utter hubris and not even worth commenting on.
There is a lot of talent spread across this league. Every team has its share of playmakers, impact players, and stars. The slight exception is Hamilton which is in a rebuilding phase and which is a little light on established veteran players, but even they have guys like Lumsden and Moreno.
When you say that you have the most talented team in the league, you're disrespecting the whole league, besides making yourself look like a complete mongoloid.
...the thing is.......WHAT IF?????...the Bombers win tonight....They might actually come out to play for real....and make alot of people look foolish......but then ????
Quit trying to get people's hopes up.
Speaking as an Als fan, I would not at all be surprised to see the Bombers come out with guns blazing tonight. A wounded animal backed into a corner is a dangerous animal. Hamilton showed last night that you can win even without your star players. I expect a dogfight tonight.
Very true dis, also it takes a lot more than just talent to win at professional football. In fact talent is probably the least important factor, since at the professional level most players are pretty equal.
The immediate solution to the Bomber's problems:
- Get rid of Bauer - YouTube
2.Get rid of Coach Berry and Kit Cartwright Pesci Beatdown - Casino - YouTube
Capiche?
RE: KG's passing. 5117 yards. 6000 was a typo, but KG still was by far the best passer in the league in 2007 and will be again, once we get one offensive-minded coach that knows what he's doing into the mix.
ok i just gotta say i agree we have the talent to beat every team in this league we do have 1 of the best receiving core probably top 3 we have 1 of the best olines when healthy which is never, and are defence is Avg at best.
all we need is a offensive coach that has a good system think about the running game werun up the middle and rarely ever bouncee it outside where other teams bounce outside probably 35-50% of the time and we have an agilty-back so for him to be able to bounce outside and cut on a dime would benefit so much. and for the 1st 3-4 games most of are passing where quick slants we now have started going other places and look at the turn around. and if the o-line this game can give dinwiddie at least 4 secs to do something he'll have a hay day. that was are mistake in T.O dinwidde or the run game was stop in 2 secs which is horrendous.
Toronto is the only team Hamilton can beat, thats why.

Glad you could pass judgment in week 7 of the season. It’s especially funny considering that your Riders were within a few seconds of losing to Hamilton a few weeks ago and had to pull out all the stops in a last-minute, fourth-quarter comeback win.
Our teams have had quite a few good alley scraps over the years, but that won’t be the case this year unless you help us.
Lyle Bauer, our CEO, has chosen not to remove our inept and predictable tandem OC (Cartwright) and head coach (Berry) that went 2-6-1 in the last half of the season. We have no chance of beating you, yet Lyle Bauer refuses to make changes.
I’m asking the Als to do the following:
-Run up the score as high as you can. Carve up our secondary like a Christmas turkey. Go for 2 point converts when you’re up by more than 30 points. Try a few onside kicks and fake punts, maybe a few trick plays.
-If an Als player is running out of bounds, don’t worry if you need Doug Berry’s or Kit Cartwright’s knees to break your impact; we’ll understand.
I suspect Lyle Bauer is sabotaging this year’s team to soften the club up for private ownership and a big payoff.Administer the coup de grace–break Winnipeg’s back! Don’t stop till you score 50 points; then score 50 more! You’ll be doing us a big favour!!! We’d do the same for you if the roles were reversed.
A good enemy in sports is more valuable than a good friend and we hate your guts. We know you feel the same way about us. (I’ll be sending this letter to the Als and Bombers front offices–maybe they’ll get the message.
Maybe not exactly like you ordered, but generally got your wish!!
