35 New Players on Roster

The Riders have 73 players on their roster: 40 returning players and 33 new acquisitions. The roster limit is 75, so we can expect 35 new players at training camp (and don't forget a couple of draft picks).

This sounds like a lot. Do the Riders have the greatest turnover in the CFL this year? I know last year Toronto flipped the majority of their team.

Wow great list! Puts things in perspective when you see all the moves management makes, alot of tough decisions. Still on the fence of JT Sulliven.

Im liking the new players coming in this year.

JT is there to make ALL QBs compete…long shot.

They have put together a good group of guys for camp overall…a few holes/question marks, a few moves I shake my head at, but one can not deny the effort put into this off season

Dwayne Jarrett with quite the past, mostly at USC in the NCAA, is gone and out of pro football with a foot injury that appears to be a recurrence.

In this fine article, the rest of the new guys discussed who are competing for spots, and probably going to make the team or end up on another team, seem to be impressive.

Dwayne Jarrett has done one. Retiring at 25 as a millionaire lol

Argos to announce a trade; OL Chris Patrick to the Roughriders for a future draft pick.

The fact that they could have easily picked Patrick up as a FA but didnt then traded for him seems to be a good indicator that they want to make a change in the near future. Perhaps they are seeing Goodspeed with the new OL and fear it is a weak spot. Makes me wonder if there will be a new OT. Patrick could be it, or it could be someone else, and he is cheaper insurance than Dan. Interesting anyways

It's too bad Taman can't find the O lineman himself. He traded for Fulton (conditional pick) and now another import (conditional pick).

He brought in McCormack and Oldenburger and both were a bust.

If they play two imports they need a backup. Would be great to use Patrick Neufeld or Heenan, etc............but they need a backup if Goodspeed/Fulton go down. And i agree...........maybe they see someting with eith Goodspeek or Fulton and see a chance to improve?

My son got autographs from most of the O-line guys in Saskatoon and those are big fellas, Dan Clark, Neufeld, LaBatte, Picard, Goodspeed............big fellas

well, I don't mind the fact that he is making these trades because they are conditional. I assume that said condition of that trade is that said player must be retained past a certain date...likely June 28th or after the game of week 6. If they are not on the roster then there is no loss. If they are, then it was likely worth the trade. Now, if they hold onto these guys to the point that conditions are met and do nothing with them, then I will be upset.

I can't speak for McCormack, but Oldenburger was a pretty solid prospect...these big OL guys often just get a lower body injury that becomes cronic...unfortunate.

I believe Fulton will be on the roster because of his diversity. I would think 2 NI OL backups and 1 import backup, 1 import starter.
