3 stats that defined Toronto's win over Winnipeg in Week 8

TORONTO — There was very little separating the Toronto Argonauts and Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday at BMO Field.

What an ugly game. We’ve had some really entertaining games in the CFL this year. Sadly this was not one of them. Better than the Olympics though ( I’m probably in the minority here).

Yes, better than the Olympics, and I’d say you’re not in the minority. I don’t know anyone watching them.

The Olympic opening ceremonies was a mess - unwatchable TV & there’s lots of people saying that. I turned it off after 5 minutes but other family held out longer to their regret.

Can’t say I sat through a lot of the game either. :grinning:

I’ll likely watch some events but not all gymnastics and Equestrian events i’ll likely watch .

Another disappointing loss for Big Blue.

I sat through the entire game. it was ugly.
Thank god for 15-year-old single malt or I might not have survived.

What amazed me was Winnipeg not learning from Toronto’s turnover on downs when they were in FG range - the old adage about those who don’t learn from history are bound to repeat it. I know they wanted more time off the clock but as defensive a game as it was, they would have stood a better chance taking the points.

Hindsight is always 20/20. But yes I agree strev was already stopped once in this game.

It was certainly the story of two capable defences and two offences that moved the ball some but rarely into scoring range, where both looked as inept as the Elks…

I was at this game, as I am at every Argos home game. I am definitely an offence guy, and this game lacked big offensive plays. But, with the game being close throughout, it kept me very focused. When Chad Kelly comes back, this Argos team will be a force.

I am hoping to learn what happened with Dinwiddie needing to be held back on the sidelines while it appeared he took issue with one of his players. They didn’t even acknowledge it on the broadcast, and I haven’t been able to find any info on the matter. It did happen, right? Anybody else see it?

Yeah I saw that out of the corner of the screen for a second.

It is discussed in the game thread.

Number 59 is the culprit…

Dejon Allen said ‘something’ Coach Dinwiddie took exception to. Maybe it had something to do with his mom wearing army boots.

I don’t know why people take exception to the comment, “your mom wears army boots”.

My mother wore army boots, suspenders, panties, and a bra (just like my dear papa) with aplomp.

Of course, when she went out on special occasions she dressed in her finest which entailed adding knickers to the ensemble.
