3 stats that defined Saskatchewan's Week 16 win over Calgary

CALGARY — When two teams with a combined 12-game winless stretch meet, you can expect drama.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders and Calgary Stampeders delivered plenty of that on Friday night, with the Riders’ complete offensive performance lifting them to their first win since July 19, over two months ago. The win ensures that the Riders will hold onto third place in the West Division through this week and gives them a boost as they enter the final stretch of the season, where the West Division remains wide open.

Saskatchewan Roughriders are; The Little Engine Who Thought He Could. At the end of the 2024 CFL Season it will be all for naught as the Roughriders of Saskatchewan will once again fail to get over that high Grey Cup mountain peak with a CFL Championship waiting on the other side. They thought they could, but sadly it will be another year of disappointment in Riderville, sorry. The game last night and the next game should definitely be a victory over a low sliding opponent, its inevitable. Riders will be good entertainment for the CFL the rest of the way and that’s all she wrote for The Little Engine Who Thought He Could as either Winnipeg or BC will represent the CFL West Division in the 24 Grey Cup game. In the end The Saskatchewan Roughriders are not The Little Engine That Could.

At least you’ve posted your Roughrider trolling in a Rider related news item for once .

You might want to focus on today’s game, though. Your Alouettes will likely have their hands full with the REDBLACKS.

Life is so much nicer when you find how to ignore some users. It makes reading reply’s to them even funnier…

Sorry about that. I hope that I don’t end up on your ignore list now!

Seriously, I generally ignore the trolls as well, but in the comment section of a news item, I choose to reply this once.

Not for the first time this post has nothing to do with this thread. There is always a game thread for each game and so I will move your post there.

Well his first and foremost intent is to troll . You honestly cannot expect him to pay attention to WHERE he trolls🤭

Have we not learned anything from the past history of the CFL? I would say this year that not one team in the West is untouchable so I wouldn’t bet the farm on who will or will not make the Grey Cup yet.

It seems 4 of the 5 teams have an opportunity to finish first, or at the very least host a home playoff game this year. I’m not sure how long it’s been since that happened. If Collaros stays healthy Winnipeg is favoured. If he gets hurt… it’s anyone’s bet.

All 5 west teams have gone on “streaks”! Some loosing, some winning and some have done both.

Collaros, Harris, Ford and V Adam’s have carried the respective teams for stretches and I wager the healthiest, hottest QB leads his team to the Grey Cup in 2024.

Calgarys not done but locker room reports are not good! They may be in for a rebuild.
