Yes, the Stamps looked much better than the Elks last night. With all the changes the Elks made in the offseason, I reckon it could take the better part of the first half of the season for them to gel.
I picked the Stamps last and I’m sticking with it as they are no way better than Sask or Wpg. I have the Elks in third and the Leos in 4th.
I’m not sold on many of the moves Cal made in the offseason. It seemed one step forward and one step back. They should win more games than last season, but I’d be surprised if they made the playoffs.
The ongoing problem with Hamilton the past few seasons is that the team is never ready coming out of camp. Despite declaring their roster, they come out for the first few games playing like it is still pre-season.
My favourite stat: 47 rushing yards allowed. Our front 7 has sucked for 3 seasons and I saw no reason why it would improve this year- but this is a great start!

My Stamps won all 3 phases of the game. That said, the Ti-Cats never got around to testing our run defence, so i’ll be worried against the defending champs come this weekend. I went into this season figuring we’d have a difficult first third of the year, but maybe all that rookie talent we have will pull it together quickly.
