2025: The CFL on TSN Production

Meh, her wardrobe is no issue for me, but she just talks a whole lot and says very little.

Bring back John “Shoe” Lu to Winnipeg!

Yes she was and more than only me, but hey, when she’s homering for YOUR team, you probably would not hear it anyway. We sure did.

Wardrobe is fair game for everybody in any media or in public, though I would not feel that is the primary concern and in this case for me, there is no concern there at all.

Obviously we disagree greatly on her performance, and I also find her to be less than professional as well in that particular job, not that she could not be suited better to another job on air at TSN.

No, it’s not fair game. It’s sexism. That’s all I’ll say.

Being at the game, I didn’t hear any of her commentary on TV. I’m sure it was noticeable though.

Nope, not that it’s my thing necessarily even when I have some objection, but public figure yields public commentary, equal for both sexes, but you do you, and we leave the minors out of this matter too of course, which should be adults only

But if what is stated is done in a sexist manner, that is different though still free speech, but simply commenting is not sexist just because it’s the opposite sex.

That’s correct, she’s from Regina.

She can wear what she wants to wear and shouldn’t have to concern herself with what others (men) have to say or think about it. If you think it’s trashy maybe reflect on why it is that a woman may feel compelled to dress that way.

The sexism is that women are culturally encourage to dress in a revealing way and then openly called trashy for doing so.

A person who thinks an outfit is inappropriate may genuinely think they should dress less revealing (which isn’t their decision, but they have the right to an opinion) but commenting on it without realizing the root cause is sexist. It doesn’t take into consideration the lived experience of woman, the cultural pressure to dress a certain way and makes inappropriate assumptions.

Give it up, time to get back on topic

That is all true. One may still comment and be aware of the history when NOT commenting on such an overtly sexist basis. That is my point.

The notion that ALL commentary is off limits on the opposite sex is otherwise the one I reject, as in when the comments are not sexist, including especially on any public figure.

Others of course may elect to comment in those regards, that’s on them, though I specify my comments in this example to her poor performance in that role, as noted above.

Many do and will try to confuse and conflate all such criticism, which is not the case here in the scope of a criticism based on performance and other criteria having zero to do with appearance and/or on any sexist front.

That clip you share can’t possibly be from 2012 because the new Hamilton stadium they’re at didn’t exist until 2014. So it’s no older than 2014. Also, Masoli played for Edmonton in 2012.

Tell that please to the owner of the YouTube channel, who apparently mislabeled the clip that I shared

I wanted to tell you as you believed it as correct. The world is full of misinformation so I just wanted to clear that up. It’s not a knock against you.

Agreed - good catch

So as I have heard a few requests, bring back Dunigan and of course, we wait for Milt to return only in proper time and if he wishes to do so given what happened.

If Dunigan returns, have them set up a pre-game tailgater with full grills outside and for at the half.
It seems that most think that this panel is BORING.

Maybe as a majority we would agree on something here.
It would be great if Dunigan were back for the game on Friday on some basis.
Now I’d also like to see Rod Black do a cameo for old time’s sake too, but I know not to push that one.
But just imagine the production and screen potential of Dunigan along with Luke Willson and his pornstache and mullet!
That’s TV magic right there even before the game starts, folks!

The TSN panel at the new Stampede Bowl looked like corporate fish out of water.

Pro Tip for TSN:
When it’s a special event, get there a day early to integrate into the far more festive atmosphere. That was not just another Thursday night game, that was an event and experience, and those of us watching could feel it too.

Dunigan surrounded by a bunch of grills with meat on them and beer and drinks around would have been a great addition, and then he could take a break at halftime for the panel and probably would have outdressed them all too but looked the part.

And then you have the ultimate ringer already with his pornstache and mullet, Luke Willson, put a hat on him and he’d already look the part of a cowboy! Sure he has the Friday night game, but it’s two-a-days early in the season and he could manage it just fine. He’s a retired pro football player c’mon!

Shantelle Chand did a great job and was a positive addition who also looked and performed the part. Where has she been all this time you bojacks!?

And damn with the halftime concert and scene there, they could have cut to a whole lot more of that instead of the usual blathering, including about racing more cows, like THAT’S what most of the audience wants, more TSN clown show?

Get over yourselves TSN, c’mon, this is not cable TV circa 2005.

Bottom line - you TSN people need to get out of Toronto a whole lot more often!

Agree with most of what you said and especially like the Dunigan and two a days references. Can’t say I agree with your half time comments though. It’s not a favourite sport of mine, but I’m more partial to cow racing than Poison.

In Week 6, there are only three games, so that’s all the more reason to shake up this BORING TSN panel once to see who else can work out with it.
