2025 NFL Week 9 Game Thread

Speaking of guys who are exceptionally capable of screwing things up… Jerry Jones is ready to pull the trigger on another of his ‘blockbuster trades’.

Could it be the entire Dallas defense that’s about to be run out of town?

Well that didn’t age well, but nice try. Cowboys are now done for the year. Just a little earlier than I expected.

Yeah, an hour later I was like, “Do I go back and delete that post?”

They’re up there. Arizona has a lot of transplants who root for their original home’s team. I remember a Green Bay game there and it was probably more than half Packers fans.
Jacksonville is up there, too. I work with a guy from there and he said most people have another team they root for. He’s a Steelers fan.

Well sometimes it just doesn’t go Jerry’s way I’m afraid:

No, please keep that post!
Failed prophecies are important too!

Until recent years thanks to Tom Brady, this was the situation in Tampa too.
When I grew up in Indianapolis, it was the consistent case with the Colts until Peyton Manning arrived.
What remain when this still happens are those smaller NFL markets, except in Los Angeles where it’s the norm as well.
When the Eagles or many teams with a following outside of the home market sees one of these markets as a road game, it’s like, “oh, home game, okay.”

To your point this happens the most it seems with the Packers, Steelers, Cowboys, and Giants or Jets
(to me those from the New York market are THE WORST people in general when traveling, for they definitely get the honk from me almost daily here on the way to work when driving like ass).

I was a cards fan when they had Kurt Warner

I am a cards fan when they play Dallas, Seattle, SF, TB, Pittsburg, NE, KC, and NYG
