I saw the preview of tonight’s game I have linked below so I thought I would start the weekly thread.

loving the game so far.
Might be imagination or wishful thinking but Herbert kinda reminds me of a larger Flutie
Well the Ravens, and by extension the NFL, basically committed a fumble in their own end zone this week, so as we watch the games, the not so quiet chatter all day today, particularly on social media, will be about the Ravens and Lamar Jackson’s absence due to lingering injury.
Oh the injury I have no doubt is real, for if you have ever had a hamstring injury, the timeline for return is most uncertain and the risk of re-injury is especially high, but it’s the rest of the “developing” story now that is all the chatter since Saturday.
It’s best to go to this thread or another associated thread for that discussion during the games, of course:
No Lamar Jackson no matter - the Bears pooped the bed anyway.
Quite tellingly, I have not seen ONE gambling ad during games all day.
Now I am in the Philadelphia media market with the states served by local TV are PA, NJ, and DE, all of which have legal sports betting.
Perhaps there is a difference in another market.
If not, the NFL was wise to listen to its legal counsel this week, with all gambling ads to be overhauled as part of the fix.
If so, well then perhaps these state regulators weighed in themselves without taking any sort of legal action, and the NFL is smart enough to know how the current winds are blowing, especially after the mishandling of the matter of Lamar Jackson at the worst possible time by the Ravens.
Tons of gambling ads in Canada as CTV usurps the American feed. No different than usual. But gambling in the CFL doesn’t warrant much punishment of course.
Cowboys defence is crap, injury ravaged of course but Nix is picking them apart, i hope Jerry doesn’t get heartburn too bad.
chic a boom chic a boom… ![]()
Prescott having a rough afternoon as well.
My Bears lost
The Lions are off
And the afternoon games are all blowouts

Not a great day of games so far. Same as the CFL. Not a great football weekend overall.
Not so bad for me.
Buff big win (scorewise)
Philly win
Houston win
Miami win
Indy win
Denver win
all added to previous LAC win
Bummers are Chicago and Cincin loses.
As it was on at the same time as the Eagles game here, with the Eagles on the romp well ahead, the Bears at Ravens was holding up for a bit in the 4th quarter as the Bears attempted a comeback, but that did not last long either.
The only game today with high drama was that comeback by the Jets at Bengals - 23 points in the fourth quarter!
Not counting the annoying ads for the Pennsylvania State Lottery, I just saw the first two gambling ads of the day on TV, but they were specifically AFTER the NFL games and not associated with sports betting, but with casino gambling in general.

It looks like the Cincy/Jets game was the best of the week so far, but I didn’t see it. I thought Cincy had it in the bag, but I see that two late TD’s by the Jets including a two point conversion gave the Jets a one point win (39-38) their first of the season. Cincy seriously damaged any hopes of a playoff spot with today’s choke.
Also surprising was the Dolphins waxing the Falcons 34-10, thereby saving McDaniel’s job for at least another week. Atlanta has been such a Jekyll and Hyde team, but they are also now sinking fast.
In spite of the poor slate of games I note that not even the World Series dares to go had to head with the NFL today.
Tonight’s game looks promising, but there are two troubling signs already.
It will be interesting how that turf with high grass affects long field goal attempts.
Haven’t seen the turf or the unis yet, but plan to tune in after the Jets game.
whad you talkin about. Jets game is over ![]()
Not the real Jets.
Tied with the Mammoth at 2 after two. ![]()
Not really a bummer ![]()
