Tigers claimed at least a wild card spot with a 2-1 win over the BoSox yesterday but still have a slim chance at the AL Central title.
Grand slam
5-1 Blue Jays!!!
1st inning
What a way to start!
Jays up 10 - 4
7th inning
13-4 now; what an amazing game
Saving a spot for the Pirates I hope. ![]()
Oh well, at least we got a Cy Young coming.
Thus, hoping for a Phillies vs Mariners 2025 World Series berths.![]()
As a fan of the Phillies, I can hope that the Brewers and the Cubs, which I saw beat my Phillies locally when going to games in June, beat the crap out of each other in a 5-game series first.
I would rather have the Reds rather than the Dodgers due to the length of travel, even though as an organization, I like the Dodgers better.
Match-ups,
Tigers vs Guardians* ALWC
Padres* vs Cubs NLWC
Red Sox vs NY Yankees* ALWC
Reds vs Dodgers* NLWC
I want all these series to go full 3 games
Exhaust their pitchers before they match up with the Jays and Mariners
I want the matchup with the Jays and Mariners
I could see Canadian Jays fans flooding across the border from BC and packing T Mobile Park in Seattle

I was fascinated to see “baseball heaven” scheduled for these three days, with quadruple-headers for at least two of the three days in the best of three for the division series!
This means perhaps it will be quieter overall with those bojacks not screwing around or starting some new discretionary project, whilst ignoring some overdue more difficult project, at work as well.
This is such garbage under the guise of “fighting scalpers.”
MLB Commissioner, where are you on this one?
Or are you hiding away from the ownership of the Yankees and the Red Sox who told you go to to your cold room and to hide under a bed with no supper again?
Yeah.
Is Trumph throwing out the first pitch??

…and extra innings Grover!!
Cleveland ties it up
It appears that you got most of your wish and certainly for the AL teams. LA is up 7-2 in the bottom of the 7th so that looks like the only series that won’t go 3 games.
Baseball isn’t that grueling compared to most sports and they are used to playing every day, but the extra games are going to screw with the starting pitching which should be an advantage for the bye teams.
I suspect that most of us realized that of all the opening round, that was the most mis-matched. Reds barely squeaked into the wild card round, and the Dodgers are, well, the Dodgers.
Anyway, last night, dramatic winning run in NY, Chisholm going first to home in 9.16 seconds.
Here is to hoping for all games today go at least
14 innings!
No stupid extra inning rules in the playoffs
“Major League Baseball’s extra innings format is different in the playoffs from the regular season, getting rid of the “ghost runner” starting on second base once a game goes beyond nine innings.”
Anyone else see Mason Millers throwing for the Padres?
The dude is insanely good. 104 mph and put it in the corner of the strike zone perfectly to strike a guy out. Guy has speed and control to spare.
