Never heard of any other league having a “fan council”.
Perhaps the CFL should have had one before implementing the rule changes.

I never heard of it either. Although I’m sure the fans don’t have a say, this would appear to be a shrewd political move by the league. We know what the fans will say and this should make the players look more like the greedy bad guys.
Thankfully the CFL didn’t put the rule changes to a fan council. That would have resulted in probably one consensus rule change by 2028 and the “let’s party like it’s 1928” crowd would be yammering incessantly to get rid of the forward pass. Too American.

True enough but you could have a ‘fan council’ or ‘fan advisory board’ whatever you want to call it. However in the setup operations, terms of membership, of such a council you specifically state that rule changes are not part of the council’s mandate in any way, shape or form and any discussion of rule changes will result in automatic immediate dismissal of any member of the council. Nip ‘er in the bud sort of thing.
