Another tough week of picks.

:bombers: Winnipeg Blue Bombers
After a hot start, Calgary is starting to look like the team I thought they’d be this year. The defence has been a pleasant surprise, but I just don’t see enough talent at key positions on this team, and long-term injuries (e.g. Begelton on the 6-game) haven’t helped either. This one might be a lopsided win for the Bombers.

:argonauts: Toronto Argonauts
Going with the home team in a close one. Might change my mind later depending on injury intel.

:bclions: BC Lions
Historically, the Lions have always been a tough out for Montreal, and I cannot see them losing four in a row assuming Rourke is healthy. Meanwhile, I fully expect Davis Alexander to miss another week (to give him the extra time of the ensuing bye week to let his hamstring heal), and while there’s no way MBT can do worse than he did in his first start, he’s brand-new to Jason Maas’s system, and a desperate Lions D coached by veteran Mike Benevides isn’t going to leave much room for mistakes.

:elks: Edmonton Elks
Am I really doing this? Am I picking Edmonton before they’ve gotten a win again? I been burned so many times before. But but … they’re at home, their offence is starting to look like something, Ottawa’s secondary is the perfect opportunity for explosives, and I think Edmonton’s pass rush is going to give Crum all kinds of trouble. That said, if Brown is healthy and starting I may well revise this pick.

Davis Alexander and Dru Brown are still on the one game injury list. Nathan Rourke on the other hand… is on the active roster.
