A place to consolidate this stuff as it’s now appearing in multiple threads
Ok. Another complaint about Kurtis Rourke posts. Recently the 2025 Hamilton thread was created for the 2025 season. Cfl draft, free agency etc. Then another thread for Kurtis Rourke only. That one was removed and now another thread 2025 CFL draft (including Kurtis Rourke news).
What’s next?
you could put Kurtis Rourke news under “other leagues”, he will never play for the Ticats or anywhere in the CFL
Fellas, I’m just trying to be helpful. A few people in this Ticats community want to talk about Kurtis Rourke and the Indiana Hoosiers. They were talking about him in the 2024 Ticats thread and IMO that seemed well enough since there was nothing else going on there. Recently Kurtis and Indiana posts have started showing up in other threads so I thought it made sense to give it a space.
Not everyone’s going to agree and that’s OK, but for now I’m hoping the we can use this thread to contain the Rourke/Hoosier talk and any other Draft talk that may pop up. I suspect this thread will be mostly Kurtis Rourke for the next several weeks.
Placing posts about the #1 CFL draft pick was fine in the Hamilton 2025 thread. There were also posts of other CFL draft picks in the Hamilton 2025 thread. What is the problem? There were 46 posts in that thread this morning. Only 5 posts about 2025 CFL draft picks.
Maybe you should volunteer to be an unpaid mod? Seems reasonable to me🤔
Let’s move on boys…
The draft is it’s own beast. CFL fans should get excited more.
Fans know very little about any of the eligible players. Apart from compiling a top 20 list we don’t get any more info until the combines begin. Most of those who do get drafted are on a slow development curve and may only see time on special teams or hang around on a practice roster for a year or two. Half of the guys on the top
prospect list are looking to get drafted by the NFL, sign free agent or rookie camp tryouts down south and may not make their way to the CFL for 2-3 years if ever. Of course there have been some exceptions in recent years with the Philpots, Uguak, Cantin-Arku etc. but they are few and far between so I can see where fans develop apathy towards it
It’s not hard to look up eligibility. Look at any USports roster and it will tell you the year four players. Same with the NCAA, except it says senior or red shirt juniour.
Plus three down nation and Canadian football perspective does a great job with the CFL draft. Several draft picks got starts this year.

Applaud your enthusiasm. Most of us won’t do much in-depth research aside from reading a 3Down article or two. I always thought it would be great if TSN could do some halftime features on the top draft prospects for the following year.
Actualy being able to watch USports games on a major national broadcaster would certainly help. IIRC, Rogers holds the rights to USports, since they broadcast the Bowl games and finals.
At one point it seemed USports football was on the rise in popularity. I enjoyed watching the games on The Score, not just playoffs. I also remember a half hour weekly show hosted by Jim Mullin featuring the university players including some in the US. There is a built in audience of CFL fans who would be interested in following the players. Sportsnet basically buried it when they got the rights and now most of us are mushrooms when it comes to knowing anything about the players.
I agree it’s a shame.
CBC is showing the rest of the Bowl games and the Vanier Cup.
During the season I watch Laurier games for free on the OUA streaming website .

They buried it when the ratings tanked, not very many people watching Usports.
Sportsnet doesn’t hold the rights. CBC, RDS and TVA
I had no idea that CBC obtained the rights - I just remember Tim Micallif mentioning the playoffs on his cancelled show for being the PBP guy.
When Rogers DID own the rights, they certainly didn’t do anything to promote USports football…
It can be a tough watch at times
The past few years, the entire CFL has been a tough watch at times…
I would be interested in watching a weekly update of players in the NCAA and the Canadian Universities. But maybe I’m a minority.
