For those wondering about the future of Belichick, I cross-post here:
Two more coaching changes either done or imminent:
And the Cowboys hire a surprise head coach:
all in all, this has been a pretty good season for me. Most of my teams did well and were usually entertaining.
If Eagles would win SB then that would be bonus
Excuse the anticlimactic title of the article, but I can’t believe that the NFL still does this crap.
What do the lineman do during flag football other than count Mississippi’s and break wind?
Or have they gone ahead and done away with any semblance of a pass rush for sake of flag football anyway?
The fact that this event is actually televised is astounding as well.
Same here.
First, all-star games are great in theory but in practice, well…
I watched them when I was a kid - I’d watch anything involving football back then. And in those days, players actually took it seriously. Health-wise, I don’t blame them for skipping it.
They’ve tried so many iterations. At this point, just make a list of the top players and give them a certificate or something.
so no Pool for the Sunday’s flag football game ? I wanted to do my pick!!!
Here’s the pool thread to make your picks everybody:
And here’s the Super Bowl discussion and game thread too:
Manning team will win
i think Tucker may be in a world of trouble now
Saw that earlier. He may turn out to be the GOAT of the rub and tug.
Or rather trying for that.
My wife is a massage therapist and they are as professional as physical therapists.
In 13 years, she’s had only one creep, fortunately.
Wow that’s wild. From a future HOF to a complete dirtbag in less than 48 hours.
As a Ravens fan and huge special teams fan, I feel betrayed. Really gutted to hear about this as he was the kicker who initially got me interested in special teams.
He is denying all allegations;
Everyone deserves to have these sorts of things investigated so I’ll try to reserve judgment but it’s not looking good. Really disappointed.
This is also one of those occasions on which it pays to remind everybody that even if a player who is accused of wrongdoing is exonerated (or even settles but admits no wrongdoing, which is common in civil settlements) in the associated civil proceeding(s), or otherwise as not in this case in a criminal proceeding(s), the NFL itself may enact discipline in line with regards to violations of its policies, including for personal conduct.
In short, I don’t think it takes nearly as much evidence any more for the NFL to weigh in against the player, including for starters a suspension from play and the associated heavy amount in lost potential earnings for the player.
One of the best players in the league requesting a trade from the sadsack Browns.
And despite the butt-hurt complaints from a much smaller faction, the new name stays, as confirmed once again by the ownership.
The real focus now should be for the new stadium, preferably back in Washington DC too.
And as this is Washington here, so the cynical side of me would view that part of this swift confirmation was influenced by the brand value gained after a great performance in the playoffs, which was the first time a team from Washington has won two games in the playoffs since the 1991 season, when they last won the Super Bowl.
It looks like the Washington Commanders are going to stay the Washington Commanders.
Back in June, new team owner Josh Harris left the door open for a possible name change at some point down the road, but after a successful season that saw the franchise get to the NFC Championship for the first time in 33 years, it seems that the Commanders name has suddenly started to grow on Harris.
During a press conference on Monday, Harris was asked if it the Commanders name is here to stay and he didn’t hesitate with his answer.
“Yes,” Harris said via NBC 4 in Washington. “I think it’s now being embraced by our team, by our culture, by our coaching staff and so we’re going with that.”
Of course the team still owns the intellectual property rights of the old name and logo, and of course from a business standpoint, they are going to sell some associated merchandise too.
So whoever still does not like the Commanders name, just go buy one of those shirts or other merchandise.
Following up on Myles Garrett, the Rams will be dumping former all world receiver Cooper Kupp, although not by his choice.
That is a bummer re the Rams but I hope he ends up in Detroit or Buffalo
Born and raised in Yakima Washington, he’s gotta come to the Seahawks!!! They should try to get in those talks…lockett is a hero but getting past his best before date…
