Despite lots of noise about not hitting and other things, the Blue Jays bullpen has lost so many games this season its staggering…and they have not addressed it at all…
The best baseball player in the world just hit the previously unheard of 50/50 mark as expected. He did so in style with 2 stolen bases, 3 homers and 10 RBI. The article below describes how much of a student of the game he is and how hard he works. Full credit to the man.

He had a mixed legacy as one of the all time great but a poster boy example of betting in a league/team one is employed with.
Big question now is does he finally get in the hall of fame posthumously

Unfortunately, that’s not happening.
Same with "Shoeless " Joe Jackson who got involved with the Black Sox scandal even though he really didn’t throw any of the games he’s involved in.

I moved this to the general baseball thread which does exist but hadn’t been used lately.
I met Pete Rose briefly at Caesar’s Palace mall in Vegas in 2009. He was sitting at a table signing autographs for money.

Sad to see Rose gone BUT I applaud MLB’s position on betting. Other leagues could learn from their resolve to say - even once is too many times.

What was he like aside from doing business.
Didn’t know him, but he was known to do a bunch of shady things after being caught for any dollar he could. A real Lemon some say.

He was like that before he entered the majors.
Considering some players in the Hall of Fame with some questionable past (Ty Cobb for his racist views for example) Rose can fit right in.
He will never be entered in the Hall of Fame.

It’s great to see real baseball today ! No Biggio , no Jansen and no Vogelbach . Hitters who can hit and pitchers who can pitch . The Astros lost to the Tigers in a well played, exciting game that went down to the bottom of 9 , 2 out and bases loaded . The Orioles lost one to nothing to the Royals in another exciting finish . This is real baseball being played by great teams .

Those no good galoots are out of here!!! Astros were bounced by Detroit today.
I was a bit surprised but the Orioles had nothing today…zip diddly for life and hitting, top 4 in the lineup were 0’fer in the series.
