When you stand by and watch the guy with the bum ankle get aboard when you can make the easy out to end the inning - you deserve to lose.
That out would have ended the 5th with the Yankees up 5-3. But he got a free pass and scored to tie the game…

True, but it wouldn’t have happened if not for Judge’s muff and the inning would have ended 5-0.
Bucky (Hellebuck) is in a LEAGUE OF HIS OWN.
One of the best regular season goal-tenders in recent history.
One of the worst playoff performers.
Part of the problem is he’s been overplayed in the regular season and is a shell-shocked and fragile kitten in the post-season
In weak defense of Aaron Drudge, the ball that was hit was a bit of a line drive, not a pop up. Drudge was contemplating his reaction after catching the ball - ie. throw to contain movement on the bases so that distracted him slightly and he failed to open his mitt the receive the ball - instead the baseball clunked off the outside of his mitt.
Unforegivable. In the end his 59 home runs were just window dressing on a powerful American league team’s regular season.
NYY also rostered a guy with two broken fingers (Rizzo) who couldn’t hit worth sh*t.
I still can’t decide who’s muff was worse - Cole or Judge. At least Cole never touched the ball - his was a clear judgement error.
