2024 Game/Partie #4- Montréal at/à Toronto-2024-06-28

The Alouettes will have to stop the Argos running game; if they have as many missed tackles on RB Carry as Edmonton had tonight, they won’t have many chances; furthermore, they will have to avoid stupid penalties.

From what we know, the Alouettes should basically have the same roster as Thursday against Ottawa, since there were, as we know, no major penalties. We should know next Tuesday when they will practice.

I am confident that the Alouettes will win.

Yep, glad to see a three-practice week. We’ll need it too. The Argos are not Ottawa. Though if their defence plays like it did in their win over Edmonton, we shouldn’t have much trouble moving the ball on them.

OL Landon Rice added to Argos practice roster today. Coincidence seeing we play them this week?

Although I have to admit I was surprised the Als did not make an effort to re-sign him.

If he had been in training camp there might be some “game-planning” value … but I think this is just a need for Canadian OL depth

I just don’t want Rice to give the Argos any inside information on our exotic ground game.

After week 3, the Alouettes are second in yards rushing and fourth in yards passing. Yes, 3 teams have played only 2 games.

In yards allowed, they are fourth in rushing yards allowed and second in passing yards allowed.

Number 1 with Edmonton in sacks made (8) and second in sacks allowed(4)

To me, if you sign a guy the week before you’re playing his old team because you think he can give you inside info, you’re weak and desperate. And Dinwiddie is neither weak nor desperate. I think Rice is just a depth signing, nothing more.

Besides Vandal OL Darius Ciraco also dressed for the Argos last game. Mainly a center he has played other positions on the o-line.

Rice practiced against Lemon last season, might be able to tell Argos how best to handle a guy who gave them issues in the Eastern Final.

If we don’t see something decent from Sean Thomas Erlington this week, either on offence or on special teams, I would sit him and dress Gowanlock, who is a solid ST guy. I have zero idea why STE is dressing when he gets 0 touches on offence. We’ve had him returning kicks occasionally and the results have been minimal. To have three RBs dressed when we run the ball so infrequently is hard to understand. I’d be fine with Fletcher backed up by Antwi.

Worst comes to worst (i.e., Antwi and Fletcher both go out), one of the FBs (Dallaire, Gagné, Mason) could be the emergency RB.

Gagné limited today in practice, Cibasu DNP.

I see from the injury report that Ciraco did not practice because of a hip injury. That could be the reason for the Rice signing.
But no spilling secrets Landon!
