Yup. Likely the cost of building a new facility that has better corporate facilities
and more upscale seating options, where the seating is not as far from the field either.
Lots of other things to do before worrying about a new stadium, build a winning culture, securing competent management and coaching, show the fans that they are appreciated and listened to, things that used to matter to this organization that were somehow lost in the shuffle.
Well - Elks can really throw a wrench in the west standings in the next two games.
IMO - the Bombers are not the powerhouse they were a couple years ago.
They squeezed out two gritty wins over the Riders for Ldc, and Banjo Bowl.
But I think the Elks can at worst split those games.
Weāre in a better position to take out those Bombers than we have been all season.
As cliche` as it goes for most teams not dominating for all four quarters and allowing for some garbage time, we simply need to shore up the defence against big plays and avoid those stupid turnovers.
Ford is starting next game so Iām betting they have been working on a bunch of misdirection stuff for him. Never been a better time with Bighill out on the 6 game (knee).
Sort of crazy but where we are vs. west teams on the season?
BC - 1-1 - +14 points on the season series.
Sask. 1-1 +3 points, 1 game remaining.
Calgary 2-0, +36 points 1 game remaining.
Winnipeg - 2 games remaining
Soā¦Elks win a tiebreaker with every team except the one we have not played at this pointā¦
Interesting. So you may have the season series against Sask depending on your last meeting and may eventually have the season series over 3 Western teams. Winnipeg has the season series against BC, Sask and Calgary with no games left against those teams.
So whichever team of the Bombers and Elks wins that series will likely have the season series against all the Western teams, assuming you guys beat Sask. Probably pretty rare and a huge advantage that could mean home field in the playoffs
Yup it would. There are a bunch of divisional games down the stretch that could change things.
I even think Calgary, while the playoffs might be sliding away, may still have a part to play.
Elks signed kicker Campbell Fair to the roster. Huge move. Iāve been expecting him to take over in Calgary if Paredes ever retires. Heās been great in preseasons.
Wonder if he got fed up with waiting and signed with the Stamps rivals out of spite Maybe Iām just making up storylines
Probably not making anything up. I expected they may be making some moves this bye week to start with as they have been dropping players off the practice roster for a couple weeks.
Good moves by Geroyā¦who was never a figurehead GM IMO, and is proving it here.
