Thanks for letting my play. I was, at best, middle of the pack from start to finish. I always gave good predictions, the teams playing just forgot to follow my logic each week. Must be them, not me, right?
Scheduled games for Week #21 - End of Regular Season.
Friday October 25
Hamilton at Ottawa - Ottawa has a good home record and desperately wants to end the regular season on a winning note.
Friday October 25 Toronto at Edmonton 6:30 pm - I think The Argos will win a squeaker.
Saturday October 26
Winnipeg at Montréal 12:00 pm - This is as much a hope and a prayer on my part than an actual prediction of who will win. The Bombers will be playing hard BUT the Als are in Montreal and really don’t want to go into the EF on a two game slide. True, this game won’t mean anything in standings BUT it can go a long way mentally as this may be the team they have to play if they win the EF. They do NOT want to give them, or anyone, any edge, idea or belief that they can beat the Als.
Saturday October 26
Calgary at Saskatchewan 4:00 pm - The Riders should win this handily. I say should, but my fear is that they look past them especially if the Bombers lose to MTL. They would then face the real possibility of starting to think about the WF even before kickoff for this game. In truth a Bomber win or a Rider loss may help fortify them emotionally for the remainder of the run for the Cup. (personally, I expect they win this and all play-off games to end as GC champions on a 7 or 3 game win-streak).
Some picks to make or break the season.
Ive steadily got better as its gone on. Remember some big weeks mid season with some 50-50 matches that landed my side.
So this week.
Hamilton
Edmonton
Winnipeg
Saskatchewan
Thanks to the pickers, and to the admin for this season.
Ottawa has taken self destruction to new levels…
Toronto will even bring the backup waterboy for this one
Maas will want to go to the bye on a win (after last week…)
Easiest pick of the week. Calgary is playing to sort out who to keep next season…
Hamilton Tiger-Cats
This could change if Milanovich decides to use this game purely to evaluate backup quarterbacks, but on paper, I can’t see how Ottawa wins. Which is sad given that they are playoff-bound and Hamilton is not.
Edmonton Elks
Toronto does not care one iota about this game except insofar as they want to avoid injury. Edmonton will be looking to close out a turbulent season on a positive note, at home.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Winnipeg is fighting for the division, Montreal has nothing to play for, and the Als have looked listless and sloppy for the past month at least.
Saskatchewan Roughriders
As close to a lock as any pick can be, even if Winnipeg winds up taking the division and the Riders technically have nothing to play for. The wheels have come off for the Stamps.
Interesting the Argos could finish 11-7, just as they did when they last won the Cup. That year and this year, the Argos became more dangerous as the season progressed (for different reasons).
Nice to see they are also trending upward in attendance.
Truthfully, I know nothing about Mark Greaney. I only remember his quote from a matinee movie called “A boys life” staring Robert De Niro & very very young Leonardo DiCaprio.
I was most impressed by Leonardo’s skill as an actor, was not surprised he became quite famous.
