Nice picks. I think Montreal is completely underrated as if they didn’t deserve to win the Grey Cup last year. And I too was going to pick them to upset Winnipeg but I just couldn’t pull the trigger because Winnipeg is at home. The rest of our picks are the same! Great minds…
I’m an Als fan and I still picked Winnipeg to win week 1. They’re playing at home, Montreal might have some key players out, and the Bombers will be steaming mad about the 2023 Grey Cup loss.
I hate that the league a. always makes the Alouettes defend their GC title on the road the following year (something no other team seems to experience) and b. chose to squander the title rematch in the first effing week of the season. They could have and should have saved that matchup for later.
If it was me, I’d save it for Canada Day weekend but the league was dealing with lots of complaints in the other direction. I hear what you’re saying.
