2023 NHL offseason

i think Treliving will be the next GM of the leaves if the flameouts will allow it. if not, maybe the rangers.

I think Treveling mishandled quite a lot of assets in Calgary. As a result of that baggage I think he would be on the hotseat in Toronto the second he sat down.

A Toronto GM needs to be somebody with an ironclad reputation who doesn’t take any nonsense from that media circus.

In my opinion they should not have let Lou Lamoriello leave.

Tortorella it is!

Well he doesn’t take any nonsense but if he ended up in Toronto he might as well change his name to P.T. Barnum.

Those media interviews would be legendary.

They should just send their next GM to Bill Bellichic to learn how to do pressers…

Don’t know who they are going to dig up for GM but it is going to be interesting.

Treliving is out I think. He blundered big time in Calgary last summer, if it was him that went after Kahdri and Huberdeau. I saw that as romancing the fact they were resigning Johnny G and panic when they didn’t. But Calgary GM’s have seemed like they have meddeling owners.

Unfortunately for most people its not a tragedy until it happens to them. Until then the 8 girls and women that were abused for every guy it happens too are not a tragedy either.

Good move by the club. Move him up the ladder and there’s some continuity there too. No doubt he has a list of guys hes talking to about coaching already.

It’s hard to get that new GM in if your fire yours at the end of the season now with the draft and free agency coming so soon after then end of the season. Must give the guys who play this deep a lot of sleepless nights trying to prep for draft and free agency while watching the team they built play.

A brief article about next year’s salary cap. Of interest is the historical breakdown of the salary cap since it’s inception.

Andrew Shaw is despicable garbage.

Sounds like the NHLPA needs to clarify the language in their rules.

Armstrong is predominantly a golf agent

lol how appropriate.

Yup. “its an unwritten rule” means its not a rule…plus hes not NHLPA certified. Sounds like Shanahan is trying to get out of paying bonuses or something…

Canada beat Latvia this morning to advance to tomorrow’s World Hockey Championship Final against either Germany or the US, likely the US.

And Germany ties it at 3 with 1:23 left. Pretty impressive without Stutzle on their roster.

OT about to start on TSN 1. It’s 10 minutes 3 on 3.

And Germany beats the US with a couple of minutes left in OT. Great for Canada. The US had dominated the tournament and led the game 2-0 four minutes in. They played the first six minutes of OT without a whistle.

The 3 on 3 was different than in the NHL as the players benches were on the defensive side of the ice rather than the opposite end, making it a lot easier to change.

And now the German national anthem…
