Baltimore

I was seriously thinking Pitt. Pickett should play although Iā€™m not sure they arenā€™t better off giving Trubitsky a shot. It wouldnā€™t shock me if Pitt turns it around at home but in the end Iā€™ll stick with the majority and the most recent play of both teams.

Houston

Ok. Iā€™m convinced. CJ Stroud is clearly the best rookie QB in the league so far. Still, Atlanta is improved and at home. To me this is a pickā€™em.

NY Jets

Another pickā€™em. My heart says Denver but my head says go with the Jets and their killer defence and the chance that the improved play of Zack White last week wasnā€™t a one off. Potential sub story and extra motivation as Broncos coach Sean Payton brutally dissed former Broncoā€™s coach and now Jets OC Nathaniel Hackett for the job he did in Denver. Denver is actually a slight favourite.

Minnesota

Upset special. Nothing remarkable about the Viqueens and betting on them is usually good for a sure loss, but KC is struggling even though they mostly win and Minnesota is at home and should be highly motivated to win lest their season slips away. If Iā€™m right I will gain on the field and if Iā€™m wrong thereā€™s lots of time yet to recover from a stupid pick.

Dallas

Pure homer pick. Iā€™m making an exception to my golden rule against picking a favourite team. I do think San Fran will win but donā€™t want any temptation to support them. Iā€™m hoping that this game of the year lives up to itā€™s billing like last nightā€™s CFL game of the year did.

Las Vegas

Another pickā€™em basically. Raider QB Garoppolo, a question mark early in the week, has been cleared to play. Devante Adams remains questionable but Iā€™m betting heā€™ll play against his former team and be highly motivated. In close games I will usually favour the home team on national TV. I find the Packers one of the harder teams to figure out so far this year so having a surprising good game wouldnā€™t be completely surprising.
