Here we are already at the third last week of the regular season. This is moving week as the last two weeks have only 3 games so those who are close to claiming the 8th and final playoff spot might want to do so now or pick wisely to hang on to that spot. We are back to the doubleheader Friday and Saturday slate.
On tap:
BC at Hamilton Friday at 6:00
Saskatchewan at Calgary Friday at 8:30
Montreal at Edmonton Saturday at 3:00
Ottawa at Toronto Saturday at 6:00
Bye: Winnipeg
All times Central
In my estimation this is probably the toughest week of the year to pick. Game 1 is critical as far as playoff placement goes. If Hamilton wins Montreal will want to win and Winnipeg gets the rest of the regular season off. If BC wins Winnipeg will still have something to play for next week and Montreal gets the rest of the regular season off.
As far as the last playoff spot goes Calgary must win so that makes this game the game of the week as far as importance goes. If Saskatchewan wins Calgary is done but if Calgary wins I think they have a good chance to make the playoffs. That is because their last two games are against BC and Winnipeg and it is possible that neither of their opponents will have anything to play for and fairly likely that Winnipeg won’t in Week 21. Lots of intriguing possibilities.
Good luck to all!
