That is some list! :o

Most of the starting defense is F/A
Only D Starters signed thru 2020 are Simoni, Brooks and Breaux

Just about the whole fricking League is free Agents!

Time for Drew Allemang and Shawn Burke to work their magic!

Here it comes…

“Hey Ticats, Wake Up!”

Do I get a prize for being the first to say it this off-season? ?

My goodness, that list is the nucleus of a pretty solid team.

Fixed.

I’ve pruned the list of available D linemen down to the ones I think are more interesting. Still includes some grinders, but lots of big names as well. Missed Ja’Gared Davis because the tracker page listed him as a linebacker.

Including Davis, 7 of the top 8 sack leaders are pending free agents.

Highlights include Willie Jefferson, Davis, Wynn. As a big-body Canadian who plays at a high level, Cleyon Laing is probably a major target for a lot of teams. Laurent fits the same category, but is 3 years older.

I’ve included all the Hamilton players whether I think they should be back or not. Only removed Tuggle from the list, who for some reason was listed as a lineman in the tracker.

List below still includes some guys who may have passed their “best before” date:

Also made an attempt at pruning the available DB list. Adeleke would be the hardest to replace in the secondary, though there are a couple of other Canadian starters at safety in the list (Hecht, Hoover, Gabriel). And Frankie Williams’ value as a returner goes without saying.

While INTs aren’t the only measure of a DB, Rose, Amos, Marshall, Rolle, Peters and Leonard all put up noteworthy INT totals.

While Breaux isn’t a free agent, I can’t help but wonder whether he could end up becoming a cap casualty. He’s a sentimental favorite of many, including me, but he got exposed a bit this year, and had some injury trouble (maybe those two were related?). Would we keep Breaux if it meant losing Williams?

Tough call, and not my decision, but I’m thinking “no”.

Hate to say it but the interesting one to me is Tasker. Love the player but he deserves lots of $$$ and we do have inexpensive replacements.

Davis, Masoli, Addison would be my top 3 but my goodness that is a ton of talent up for grabs.

With one notable exception, according to one or two posters who seem to have it in for one particular player.

Mike Jones?
Tuggle?
Daly?
Every National in the league?

Cold

Westerman joke-fest.

Depends on the poster, I suppose. But yes, the one I was thinking of is definitely near the top of your list, perhaps even at the top.

And that was an excellent defensive play to knock the ball out of his hands. Interesting that a different player has gotten a pass (pun not intended) on his drops the last couple of weeks.

So cryptic. Such intrigue.

If you think Jones and Tasker are players of similar talent level with a comparable record of career achievement, you should say so.

We’ll know soon enough how the team thinks of both of them.

Tough decisions need to be made to align with the salary cap. Most if not all of my no’s are because of consistent injury or just not a huge threat to score at any time or make a huge play or eats a considerable amount of cap mpney. I realize birth certificates play a huge part, but there are some serious replacements available from other teams. The Hammer is the place to play thanks to Coach O and his position coaches.

Agree mostly. It’s going to be very gut-wrenching to say goodbye to a couple of your No’s, but the show must go on…

Don’t know if Luke’s problems were due to injury or Father Time, but the Luke Tasker that finished the season was not playing to his early season standard, nor to that of Marcus Tucker.

Will be a tough decision, maybe like an SJ Green or Chad Owens move?
