If I were him I would eye ball Regina, and hope to take Cates place.

FA McCarty re-signed in Edmonton.

I think you both failed to note a key point here… Lee has been hurt for a fair amount of his days in BC. He has not had an opportunity because every time one comes up, he’s on the limp. Case in point, this past season Harris was given the nod at the start of the season over Messam (traded) and Lee (ACL). If I’m not mistaken the plan going into this past season was to go with a 3-headed CDN RB package… Then Harris got hurt in a off-season weightlifting incident… Messsam had his little incident at training camp… And Lee had yet to recover enough from his ACL last year. The plan then reverted back to Robertson which then switched to Harris…

.....For a team that sucked, as you put it, a Grey Cup appearance wasn't too bad...You might want to reserve that 'suck' comment for the Rayless esks. in 2012...probably be more appropriate

I was completely unaware of this.... If this is true...then why is it in the 21 years that Wally has been a coach he never once tryed to have a Canadian backfield... I question what you say because I'm pretty sure he had planned on having Yonis Davis as his main guy who carried the mail this last year.

Papa I will always appreciate this rivalry and have only begun to learn more of the history.

Of course hats off to you as a passionate fan over there, solid commenter (despite common disagreement), and damn good contender for the VGCC.

Whilst?

Ye may want to join us in the 21st century Olde Tymer.

I know I read an article about this back in the pre-season... right now, I can't even find a blurb on the subject from Lowell's The Fifth Quarter blog... that said, there is this:

What about Andrew Harris?

A reader brought this one up, which made us think that we hadn’t passed along any information about a player who only tore his pectoral muscle three months ago.

Harris said there are one or two moves which would cause him difficulty in a game, but as those moves aren’t usually made in a practice, he’s given the Lions zero reason to worry. In fact, in what is the ultimate irony, the non-import status of Harris and Jerome Messam probably hurts as if both were Americans they both might become workhorses.

Then I found this:
http://blogs.theprovince.com/2011/06/11/backing-up/
What is going on with the backs that are in camp is entirely different matter.

Jamal Robertson is the unquestioned front-runner, but not stated in that assessment is that he hasn’t been seriously challenged either. If you had to make a call on what the Lions will do with their backs based on the first week of camp, you might be inclined to give the ball once in awhile to Andrew Harris.

But that’s been said before, and as radio analyst Giulio Caravatta suggested Friday, it would seem the only way the Lions will entertain the thought of changing the ratio in the backfield this year is out of a need elsewhere.

There is this about Lee to start the season:

I went all the way back to January, but nothin'...

Argos re-sign FA - LB Jordan Younger

Eskies lock up two more FA; Koch and Legare.

anyone else think Reynolds will end up in the Prairies; either Regina or Winnipeg?

I think so drummer. . . Regina would be my bet.

I can’t see him ending up in Winnipeg. Chris Garrett played very well after Fred Reid and Carl Volny were injured. As well the Bombers really like Volny. I haven’t heard anything about how Reid’s rehab has gone but I doubt the Bombers would bring in Reynolds if Reid can’t go.

I don't know that Reynolds will find a spot. History in this league is not on his side.

That's true HfxTC, running backs do seem to have the shortest shelf life in the CFL.

That said, I think he'd be an upgrade in Regina over Cates. And I agree with Blue Blood that he likely won't end up in Winnipeg, for the reasons she gives.

Two WR signed by the Argo's

Argos outworking everybody...

They are a whole year late, but it sure is a re-start at receiver where they sorely need the help.

I wonder how many of the guys currently on the roster for any receiving position, other than Durie, Watt, and Owens with two of these not pure receivers, will be cut before too long.

Of course Durie is a lock to be a starting receiver, but don't be too sure about two of the three you mentioned.

Owens is a great KR, and a mediocre WR. He has no concept of route running and terrible hands. Both at hauling in passes and holding onto the ball after the catch. Fumbling is what cost him his NFL career. More importantly, he's being paid as a top WR but in reality he's a KR and a #4 or #5 WR. You can't pay that kind of money to a special teams guy with the salary cap being what it is. Milanovich got rid of him in Montreal - - actually, they wanted to cut his salary in half so he left - - and it'll be interesting to see how he handles things with Owens this time.

Watt did four fifths of fcuk all for Toronto last year, so it wouldn't surprise me to see him get cut. The only thing saving him is his NI status.
