2011 Vanier Cup

It’s still a tough road for Laval. They pretty much have to shutdown Quinlan, and they have to find an answer to Mac’s D. The largest deficit ever overcome by a team in Vanier Cup history was 18 points by Queens against Calgary.

Yikes! 23-14 Mac... oh oh... :frowning:

Well, Quinlan just threw a pick-six.

23-14 McMaster.

If there’s a team that can pull off that kind of comeback, what would be the biggest in Vanier Cup history, it’s Laval.

Two plays. That’s all it took.

Not worried yet, Acadia jumped out to a 14-0 lead against Mac. Laval still has to shut down Quinlan...

And there is an answer...

NO! penalty takes it back...

seems the crowd is decidedly pro-Mac...

Not sure what Quinlan was thinking on that pick, throwing into double coverage.

DiCroce dropped a deep pass, then him being offside led to TD pass to him going back.

Let’s see if those two can bounce back and show how good they can be.

Fumble, still Mac ball though...

Mac penalties keeping this Laval drive going. I don't know about that last PI call though.

Definitely sounds like a pro-Mac crowd there at BC Place.

Prud'homme sacked a 6th time to end drive as Bede gets FG. 23-17 Mac.

Mac's sixth sack at the most opportune time. FG Laval. 23-17 Mac....

Mac is starting to get the MO back…

No points, an interception, but Mac moved the ball, and Laval is now pinned on the 2...

Quinlan and the offence looked much more impressive that drive, until underthrow led to pick by Laval end zone.

Two turnovers by both teams now so far.

End of 3rd quarter. Mac outscored 17-0 that quarter.

23-17 Mac going into 4th quarter. Should be an interesting finish.

A little more interesting than I thought it would be at one point. Taking the game as whole, it’s more like what I thought the game would be, but Laval is lucky to be back in this one.

450 yards for Mac, 195 yards for Laval.

450-195 in net yards for Mac. Wow.

Mac does have the time of possession advantage.

Laval's offence getting somewhere now...

No no no no no no...

TD Laval...they take the lead 24-23...

Unbelievable. A 107 yard drive for a TD. 8 plays. They get their first offensive TD.

Laval up 24-23.

Leads aren't usually safe in the CFL? That's how they can be in the CIS as well, I suppose.

I think Mac can pull this out. They’ve faced adversity before…

Quinlan took hit from Marc-Antoine Fortin after that pass was complete for FD. I thought Fortin's name sounded familiar. He's a Ticat draft pick.

Good to see the Laval player who was down seems OK.

Yes, it looks like a 2and out for Laval.

No matter how this finishes, Quinlan is the game MVP

TD MAC

Back in the lead going to 2…

YES

Mac 31 Laval 24…
