Sportsnet Pacific is saying that the BC Lions will be the host for the 2011 Grey Cup.
2012 Grey Cup to Toronto ?
That's good news for Vancouver. The stadium is going to look great once they've finished the renovation.
If this is in fact true, that would make 3 straight Grey Cups in the West. This would also fall just a little over a year after the Olympics.
Seems to be more a fact than a rumor now.http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Football/CFL/ ... 1-sun.html
2013 Grey Cup to Saskatchewan ?
2014 Grey Cup to Ottawa - Conditional
Why would they announce the 2011 GC game this close to announcing the 2010 GC game? Makes little sense...
I could have sworn it was going to be in Regina..
I guess they don't care that it'll be the Roughriders 100th season.
The announcement does seem a little odd... I look forward to the news conference.
Edit: TSN picked up the story...http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=268827& ... lines_main
I bet 2012 or 2013 will be Winnipeg, hopefully they'll have their stadium by then
Plus, if we win the Pan Ams, and Hamilton decides to get a jump on it's stadium, they might be cabable of hosting a Grey Cup before 2015.
Wow, if those two stadiums happen, then the only team not able to host the cup would be..... Sask!
Yes it's all but official.http://sports.theglobeandmail.com/servl ... tball/home
So from my understanding
it hasn't been confirmed but good chance Toronto gets 2012 cause its year 100
for the Grey Cup
and I believe Ottawa has conditionally been given the Grey Cup in 2013 if they have a CFL team by then
2015 Grey Cup to Hamilton... the first year of the new stadium (if all goes well...).
Bob Young has refused to go for a Grey Cup as long as we have IWS.
Not according to the Grey Cup itself...the 1911 Tigers etched their name on it first even though they weren't officially playing for it that year. hehehe  ... take that 1912 Argos (or Balmy Beach or whatever you were).
The Argos will get the 100th Grey Cup in 2012. What an honour!
2011 Should have been Regina!
sorry but this is BS.
Why? The first team on the Grey Cup is the 1911 Tigers. So it's technically not the 100th year of the Grey Cup!
Hey at least you get a Grey Cup in Regina every few years... Hammertonians are stuck watching it on TV or going to (blecchh!) Toronto!
Had to laugh at this...
I'm torn, would like to attend a GC out west, never been to one out there but with money a bit tight, will have to choose one of next three.
So tell my guys, which one should I go to? I know the wife will say Vancouver because no way is she going to the game if it's potentially freezing outside paying some big money. But I have a feeling Vancover won't do as good a job as either Calgary or Edmonton?
