I'm thinking we might go heavily after Jonathan Hefney to address our weak spot on defense..

If we really wanted to go crazy on our secondary and picked up both Hefney and Anderson we would have a vastly improved secondary.

But if we could only secure Hefney, I believe we might have a ratio buster in the secondary with Ryan Hinds, he played really well in the time he started last season, he looked to be a solid cover corner. We could go with Hinds and Bradley at Corner, Tisdale and Hefney at Halfback, and Barker at safety.

We still have resign Tisdale and He has Market Vaule he may not be back

You can cancel my suggestion of yesterday that you look at Chris Leak as a 2nd string QB. I just heard that Adrian McPherson is now trying out for the NFL and, I guess this will mean that Leak will no longer be available. This will be a huge disappointment for Als fans, as we had great hope that he would continue as QB after Calvillo retires. By the way, here in Niagara we are delighted that your team is back at Ivan Wynne. Its an easy commute from NF and, I have, in past enjoyed attending IW to see my Als play the Ti Cats.

I might sound a bit crazy on this one, but I wonder what happened to Siddeeq Shabazz? I wouldn't mind seeing Barker having a backup.

1. A fully agree

2. Cobb isn’t as bad as people are making him out to be, and I think he’ll realize that bulking up doesn’t help you very much in the CFL unless you are going to hit the line like a madman. Still, snagging an accomplished RB couldn’t hurt or inviting some young ones to camp and see who earns their place.

3. Mann showed improvement and was decent so I would keep him. Replacing Bauman if he doesn’t come back is going to need to be done.

4. If it’s in the cards sure. Just mind the cap.

5. :lol: Not going to happen, and with him gone I think the team is thinking of bring in an import.

6. I agree, Floyd has maybe one or two more seasons left and he took some really dumb penalties last year. Otis should still start, but having someone to back him up at this stage in his career makes sense.

Avon Cobourne has yet to be signed and, I would think Heffney would help the team. There are a lot of Ti Cat fans here in Niagara and, we hope to see improvements in a basically good football team. Remembering the many negative comments I read last season, if the team wants to enhance the backup QB position then Chris Leak { Montreal } might be a good candidate.

  Don't mention his name to Obie !!   Leak was here in training camp a couple of years ago, and pulled a fast one on

I don’t believe the team needs a big influx of free agents. A couple to shore up the holes from departures and we should be fine. The biggest change in the team this year is in the coaching ranks. Continuity is a key ingredient to success in many endeavors.

That being said, I’d like to see Anderson back here.

I have to agree with Ockham here I really think that O’bie and his new help will do exactly that.

One name that did come up in the rumour mill was Wayne Smith. He left along with DJ Flick and I think he might like it back here. By that I mean that I don’t think he would turn down an opportunity to return to Hamilton ( born in Etobicoke)if given a couple of years contract with an option. He was active in the community and well liked…and I thought he played real well for us. He has stayed fairly healthy too, but an unfortunate injury to his knee just last year…that would have to be checked out. ( a lot of linemen have serious knee problems ) I’d like sure like to see him back.

Not that this would rule Smith out, but he’s had some pretty significant injuries. Torn achilles tendon in 2009, and then torn patella tendon in 2010.
