2 of 3 players fined this week are TiCats

The Official would not give way and Brandon would also not give the right of way.

Who has the right of way , the Official holding their arm out with the Football ?

The Player trying to get back to the huddle or even off the Field ?

Who do you come to the game to enjoy and watch play the Officials or the Players?

The Official didn’t respect the Players boundaries by walking right into him , the Official was on the field in hot humid conditions and lost his composure , so Banks get’s fined …hmmmm

Revenge of the Officials for the Simoni month long appeal.

The Officials called Simoni for a head shot and it took a month of appeal …revenge of the Refs.?

This movie has many sequels.

Going back a few years ago to the botched Command Centre calls and subsequent league apologies.

New cast and crews but same plotline.

Wonder which one of our players they will fine on our bye week??

It’s the CFL , who "doesn’t" go to the games to watch the refs ? I mean who doesn’t LOVE watching the refs get valuable face time in front of the cameras throwing flag after flag after flag after flag alllllll game long ?. Yep , no doubt about it , the guys in stripes are the Stars of the show in this league . Well at least they think they are on most nights anyways it seems ::).

Al Bradbury and Andre Proulx are practically national celebrities. ;D

Maybe the Ticats should announce a fine on the ref.

Well at least old turd down Proulx let this one go a few seasons back when he got bumped by a player…of course though it was a bump by an Alouette and not someone wearing Black “n” Gold . ::slight_smile:

We have always known that there is no other team that refs enjoy beating on than Hamilton…it goes way back to the toughness and aggression of the 50’s & 60’s…pretty soon we will be playing woman’s soccer.

So funny but true!!

Or maybe we just deserve it!

Team fine!

In the video Speedy’s lips did not move. Try saying “#$%@” without moving your lips – can’t be done. I can only think that the official considered the nudge, by Banks, an extension of some immediately previous vocalizing by Speedy over something on the interception play, while not realizing, or giving a ___ about the fact he’d stepped on the player’s foot. A 10 yd. penalty is questionable. A fine is ridiculous! And, I support the Player of the Week in challenging the Commissioner on it.

I think the officials calling those flags “off setting” and repeating the down was correct, by the rules. Even though the call on Breaux was after the play, the call against Calgary, on its own, could result in only one of two things … a repeat of the down, with the appropriate penalty yardage applied, or the penalty being declined by the Cats which, of course, would not have happened.

Tbh I though they flag someone on Calgary bench for saying the N word… just found out they called it on me for what???

Looking at the film above a Calgary player is beaking at Speedy …then stopped by coach “Dick…”

Did the Calgary Player use the N word on Speedy?

Speedy also mentions …he made the 350 back at the casino…

Not sure about that. The rule book isn’t totally clear here, as one of the penalties after the play, and that particular scenario isn’t covered exactly. But it looks like it should have been placed where the ball was at the time of the first penalty, i.e., yards gained.

RULE 8 – APPLICATION OF PENALTIES SECTION 3 – DOUBLE & DUAL FOULS Article 2 – Dual Fouls Dual fouls occur when each team commits one or more fouls on the same play. Article 4 – Dual Fouls – No Change In Possession (b) If both fouls are committed after yards have been gained, the penalties shall be applied at the point the ball was held at the time of the first foul. However, the non-offending team on the first foul shall have the right to decline the penalty against the opponent and accept the play as it was completed, subject to the penalty against itself for the second foul at the normal point of application.

I could be wrong here, but the facemask happened first. That would be a loss of 15 from the LOS and replay of the down. The UR happened second (after the play), and would be a gain of 15 for the Offence. Normally that would be applied at the spot of the foul, but Calgary would have already been backed-up by 15-yards.

This, at least to me, makes sense.

On that play, it was Calgary’s ball, first and ten, at their own 36. The ball carrier ran 15 yds., which would have been another first down, except for the face mask penalty against him. If that was the end of the play, and the penalty was applied, prior to the after-the-play call on Breaux, it would be Calgary first and 25 at their own 21. If the 15 yds. against Breaux was then applied, it would be Calgary first and ten at their own 36. Either way – penalties applied in order, or simply called “off-setting” – in this particular case, the result is the exactly the same.

Had the facemask penalty been the only penalty, it would have been applied from where the ball was at the time, say the 48. So it would have been 1st and 10 (or 1st and 25? not sure) from the 33.
